Debbie, I would still be down if I had 21 first graders for a day.

I have the Kindle, not the Nook.  You really got a deal on yours.  Good for you.

I'm off work with a serious eye infection.  I haven't been able to read and that's really been a downer.  My sight was completely gone from my right eye but I have some sight now.  This ordeal is costing me so much money even with good insurance.  I pay a $40 co-pay everytime I go to the doctor which has been 3 times a week plus the meds are really price and really small containers.

Wish I could go to the craft show but Oct. 2nd the only day I can go.

"He changes times and seasons..."
(Daniel 2:21, NIV)

God is always looking to take us to higher levels. He wants us to grow and increase in every area. Change is often a catalyst for growth in our lives, and it keeps up from getting stuck in a rut. To help keep us on our path toward our destiny, God will supernaturally open and close doors of opportunity. He will "stir us" out of comfortable situations and stretch us because He loves us too much to allow us to live in mediocrity.

Do you know how an eaglet learns to fly? That mother eagle will take her eaglet to the very highest point—way out of its comfort zone—and then she just releases it. As the eaglet falls, the mother swoops down and picks it back up again. She does this over and over until the eaglet spreads its wings and soars through the air.

That's what God wants for you today. He wants you to soar in life! You might feel like that eaglet learning to fly, but know that God is right there with you! He is bringing you new times and seasons so that you will rise higher and embrace the very best He has in store for you.

A PRAYER FOR TODAY

Dear God, today I open my heart and mind to receive all that You have for me. I trust that You are with me directing my every step. I embrace Your seasons of change and thank You for helping me grow and increase in every area. In Jesus' Name. Amen.

Topic: Good morning for Jan
I really miss Jan being on here every morning. In case you do not know it Jan ,you are the glue that holds us together. You have to stop working so hard.

I am not subbing for elementary schools unless I just can't come up with an excuse. They do wear me out also. I guess I am just not as young as I used to be. Couple that with the fact sleep is almost non existent for me and its just not a good combo. Elementary and all teachers do not get the respect they should. I do not think I could do it everyday.

I miss Andy and Susan being on here everyday. Just because you moved doesn't mean you are not one of us. We have a lot of people who haven't been on here for a while. I guess that means they have busy lives but maybe if they are reading like I do sometimes instead of posting they will see we miss them.

I hope you all have a great day and enjoy what little is left of summer.

Susie

Daily Devotional

"May you be rooted deep in love and founded securely on love"
(Ephesians 3:17, AMP)

Did you know there is tremendous power in love? In the same way that a tree will grow taller and stronger when its roots grow deep, you will be stronger and rise higher when you are rooted and established in love.

How do you establish yourself in love? It starts with a choice. When you say "yes" to love, you are saying "yes" to everything God is because God is love! Then, choose to operate in love according to 1 Corinthians 13. That means being patient and kind. It means not seeking your own way, not being jealous or boastful. When you choose love instead of choosing your own way, you are showing the world that God is first place in your life. You are establishing yourself in love. The more you choose to walk in love, the deeper and stronger your roots will grow.

Remember, love is the greatest thing, and it is all that will last in eternity. Choose to establish yourself in love and let it be firm within you. Let His love build security in you and empower you to live the life of blessing He has in store for you.

A PRAYER FOR TODAY

Heavenly Father, I choose to be established in Your love. Show me how to love others the way You love me. Thank You for setting me free and empowering me to live the good life You have prepared for me. In Jesus' Name. Amen.

Hi, Barbara & MO Peeps:

Wow, what a day I've had!  I substituted for a 1st grade ALL day today!  I forgot my rule of NOT subbing for 1st graders especially at the beginning of the year!  There were 21 of them and only 1 of me and by the end of the day I was totally exhausted!  I had to come home take two pain pills and lay down for an hour before I could make dinner!  Sad but true.

I've been having really bad body aches.  I'm beginning to wonder if the Lipitor I've been on since December is the culprit.  Lipitor is the one cholesterol drug I took for years before my ryn that didn't bother me.  But I'm thinking that it is now.  I'm going to call my cardiologist in the morning and ask what she thinks.  I quit taking it last night...wonder how long it takes before it's completely out of my system?  Anyways, that's the reason I took 2 pain pills tonight...I hurt so bad!

I've gained 10 lbs.  To be honest, I've gained about 23 lbs from my lowest weight.  But the last 10 lbs has just been since my PCP switched my thyroid medicine from 200 mg to 150 to 125.  I think that's part of the reason.  He did just raise it back to 150 because I told him I'd gain weight and just didn't feel as well on the 125.  I've gotta get back on track with my protein.  I've got the Isopure and protein bars.  Think I'm going to be drinking and eating those and only having one meal a day.  Maybe I can lose it within a month.  I really need to so my fall and winter clothes will fit better!  Plus I feel chunky and I am not liking it at all!

I made a nut-crusted baked talpia dish tonight with rice.  None of us really like this dish...but it was good for us!  lol!

I'm happy to say that I just finished making out my menu for the next two weeks and made out my grocery list.  Speaking of grocery list...do any of you have a computer generated one that you would be willing to share with me?  I had one that I d/l from either Red Book or Ladies Home Journal and I used it for YEARS.  However, last month I had to have my computer reformatted and unfortunately that folder was lost!  I am a creature of habit so not having that form has really been a obstacle for me!  I've looked on line for other grocery list forms, however, haven't found one I like!  So if you have one that you like and use, please email me a copy of it!  I would greatly appreciate it!  :)

Barbara - are you still planning on going to the Mound City Craft Festival with Becky and I?  Neither one of us can go on Saturday 10/9 so we will be leaving my house around 8am on Sunday 10/10.  Would love to have you come and ANYONE ELSE who can come!  Mound City is about an hour away from my house.  Usually the weather is beautiful and I'm told on Sunday a lot of the crafters mark their items down!  So that might just be a good thing for us!  I've never went on Sunday before so I guess we will see!

Barbara - I wish I knew how to can.  I have a 8 quart Pressure Cooker that has all the canning stuff that came with it...guess I could try it.  What would be a good thing for a first time canner to try canning?  I do use my pressure cooker just never have used it for canning...

Lovely Lana - Girl, did you get my PM about the Chipolte Pepper Bumble Bee Tuna I found in the large can at HyVee?  Were you able to find it?  I ate the entire can and it was delicious!  It's flavor is excellent and it's a great source of protein!!

Mama Jan - Where on where are you!?  I know I don't post very often but I always look forward to reading your "What's Happening" Post!  I miss you!!  Are you and Sugar going to be able to come to the Mound City Craft Festival with us?  I really hope you all can get a group of "girls" and come join us!  Would be so great to see you and your baby sister again!!

Jo - I know you said you couldn't come that day...but I'm hoping maybe you can??  Would be great to see you again!

Hey, I did get a good deal on Craigslist for The Nook!  This lady's sister had bought her one and she didn't want it.  It was still sealed and had a gift receipt that was 2 day sold and I got it for $100!!  I went directly to Barnes & Noble and bought a really cool case for it and the light and the screen protector.  I went ahead and bought the 2 year extended warranty...with me subbing and taking around the kids it's a good idea for me.  Anyways, I absolutely LOVE it!!
Barbara and Jo - how do you turn the pages with out clicking the side of the Nook?  I'm told you can turn the pages by touching the screen but I haven't been able to figure it out.  If you know how, please tell me!

MO Peeps - I hope all of you are doing well!
Wish more people would post!  I know, I need to start posting more too!  I will try!!

Good night everybody!  Have a GREAT week!!

I used to attend a few years ago but I just didn't like the holding hands and "praying" part of it!! Just me! I do however have a food addiction and am trying to work on it as I am only 9 months out from surgery and if I do not get it under control, I will sabotage my RNY.
I would love to chat with you. I have sent a friend request!

I love applebutter. I get sugarfree at the Amish store behind Lamberts in Ozark. My DH really only likes strawberry jam so that's what we usually have but I do love apple butter. I've been considering stirring it into my homemade Greek yogurt. It would look awful but bet it would taste good. I like cinnamon in the yogurt and Splenda. Yummy.
I am still struggling with 5 pounds since TT. It just creeps up on us and then is so hard to get rid of.
Vacation is coming up for me so I know that will not be a losing time.
Hope you all have a good day.
Hugs,
Lana
