Topic: Its Friday! for Jan
I will start for Jan this morning. I know she is working. I sure miss her when she is not here. I know a lot of us skip days on here because we are all so busy but we need to stay in touch. I think it helps reinforce everything we need to be doing.

I had kindergarten on Wednesday and oh my. I had forgotten how much energy they have. I of course had recess duty and it was raining so I had four classes in my room alone for thirty minutes. I think I will have excuses next time they call but they did not tell me it was going to be kindergarten on the phone. It took me all day yesterday to recover. If I didn't get the hugs from the kids I couldn't do it. They are a handful but sweet. The biggest problem is it is such a small school system the pay is the pits. Its almost not worth it.

I drove a bus for 13 years and burned out doing that, I do not know how much longer I can sub in the classroom. I think I need to go back to school myself. I could go back to doing taxes, I did that for six years but the pay for that around here is bad too. I think I just need to move.

I am with Jan that the extreme weather this past year is not what I want . It can't be as bad this year. No way will two years in a row be that bad, or at least I hope. I need a mild winter for sure. I am already planning to try a cruise during the coldest part of this winter.

I hope you all have a wonderful day.

Susie

((((Mama Jan))))

It was so nice to still "see" your face on the board this morning!  Just thinking about you makes me smile!  :)

I was wore out again yesterday!  I came home and laid down for a couple hours then got up and went to Jake's Football game.  He's on the High School's Sophomore team.  They played Olathe East last night and beat them 36 to 32!  It was the BEST game they've played so far this year.  Our team is undefeated and was so Olathe East.  However, we are a 5A School and they are a 6A School.  Have no idea how it happened that we played against each other but we did and we WON!  Whoot!  Whoot!  It was a beautiful evening and the moon was so pretty!!  I almost didn't go but I'm so glad I did!  Jake was really proud of that one!

This morning I had to take my mom into OP for a sonogram on her kidneys.  They called this afternoon and she has to have another test tomorrow morning.  Thankfully my hubby was able to go by the center and get the stuff she has to drink two hours before her test.  Otherwise, we would be going there and waiting 2 hours after she drank the stuff.  David has been so good to me lately.  Maybe he's always been and I've just never really noticed it before?  He didn't get off wor****il 5 tonight (he goes into work at 6:30am).  He then stopped in OP for Mom's stuff and drove it out to her house which is 5 miles south of us.  He didn't get home until almost 7 tonight.  PTL for my hubby!

Please pray for both my Mom and Dad.  My Dad's BP has been high.  He said his BP medicine was making him dizzy so he just quit taking it a couple days ago.  Well, his BP is like 180/90!  He did take his meds today and it is still is high but not as high.  He has an apt tomorrow afternoon with his PCP.  Mom is suppose to take him.  Who knows I may have to do that too.  So please keep me in your prayers as well.  I LOVE them both so much but I really do wish they would have had more than one kid together...would make it much easier one me.  I am soooooo tired!   Oh well, I'm just glad that the Lord allows me to help them when I can.  I know without HIM, I could do NOTHING!

Jo - I'm so glad you're eye is better!  I'm also glad you got a good report from your surgeon.  It is unbelievable to me that people would not continue to go for their annual check up after rny surgery.  It's a lifetime decision and I plan on going back to Dr. H EVERY year whether I think I need to or not.  They are finding more things out each year and Dr. H seems to be adding more blood work tests to be done.  Just think people are playing a deadly game if they follow up - for the rest of their lives!
Did the doctor say why he doesn't think the OTC vitamin D is working?  Remember Barb telling us she was ordering her iron off a biaratric web site now?  I'm wondering if more of us shouldn't be doing that??  Will be something I discuss with Dr. H when I seem him the next time.

Jeanine Rae - CONGRATS on getting approved for the Vo-Hab!  I can "feel" your excitement over the computer!  I am so happy for you!  Glad to hear you're working on kicking that nicotine habit too!  I just know the Lord has great things in store for your life!

MO Peeps - hope all of you have a good evening!  Tomorrow is FRIDAY!!  :)

Hi everybody,

Got some good news yesterday, my application for Vo-Rehab was approved. Have an appointment Tuesday afternoon for evaluation, I think they will give me some testing to see what I should go into, I can tell you right now it will be driving truck. Am so excited, I'm having trouble thinking about anything else.

Did get a laptop, so I can stay connected on the road, my desktop has vista on it and am having trouble with it. Also my DSL modem is outdated so it won't recongnize my wireless router. Am ordering one from Centuryling tomorrow, maybe then I can use my laptop and let the desktop rest for awhile.

Am down to 253 now and feeling better and better everday. Went to the pharmacy and got the patch, I can quit overnight not smoke til later in the day and then I get really nervous, so maybe the patch will help me finally beat it.

Am super tired been going since about 4:30 this morning, going to say goodnight. Love you all and will try to post more often.

HUGS!!!!!!!!!

I watched Biggest Loser and was disappointed in how they made the three competed because I think the ones that didn't get to go really needed it the most.

I finished my applebutter canning and ended up with 41 pints. Glad thats done. All made with splenda too.

Craig,
Soso nice to see you on here.  I do not post much either and only get to readonce  a week. Good luck on your schooling.  Your story is awesome and yes, I remember coming to see you right after surgery.  Iwould not even recognize you now.

I am really busy at the moment andfor last year doing full time care for my husband.  We just went through an extensive surgery , followedby  pt and  ot.  He is doing some better but has had aset back this week. Please keep us in your prayers  to.  We know the Lord takes care of us!!! He proclaimed it to many people as a pastor and is finding out first hamd!!!!   It is very hard to do 24 hr care but God is my rock.

I am doing fine.  always take my vitamins and eat right most of the time. I cannot tolerate sugar at all.  I go back to Dr. H  on 11/30.  It will be 6 years and have never had a problem at all.

Take care, and God Bless,   Colette

Just got back from seeing my surgeon and his team.  Actually, I only saw him for a few seconds.  His "fellow" talked to me so I was a little disappointed.  He did give me a script for vitamin D to take for 8 weeks then I'm to get bariatric vitamin D.  The O-T-C stuff isn't working.  I got good reviews from everyone and they said most patients don't continue follow up after a year.  I could lose 20 lbs. but I'm considered a success!!

I saw the exercise guru first and she was totally different than before.  Usually, she ticks me off with her attitude, but she was very nice today so I'm thinking she had to change her bedside manner.  The dietician said I need to eat more and stop trying to keep carbs low.  She said everyone needs a minimm of 130 grams of carbs daily.  The psychiastrist was new, very nice and didn't think I have any problems.  I do have a hernia but no need to repair at this time.

My eyes are much better and I'm able to read.  The light still bothers me a lot.  I'm so thankful I can see again.

Anyone watch Biggest Loser this week?  Really sad the condition people are getting themselves in with their weight.

Jan, take care of yourself.  Hope you're out of the funk you were in this week.

not a lot new, back to work again today and tomorrow then off on saturday and work again on Sunday and Monday. I am tired dont know how much longer i can do this...got to try for a little longer tho...need to get the bills paid lol

Debbie D you are a glutton for punishment too huh? first graders would be fun in one respect but could be a big big handful in another way. Have thought about finishing up my hours i need to be able to sub in schools but never have. all i would want to do is do first grade and kindergarden and sit and read to them or cuddle lol

Jo glad your eyes are better. wow that is horrible. Becky had some bad things wrong with her eye not long ago too. And another friend of mine had infection in her eyes like that too. crazy isnt it.?
I know it is scary when the eyes start to go . take care of them and you lol

Did you all see that big beautiful harvest moon last night? it was so so pretty and was so low looked like you could reach out and touch it. the night was so bright last night almost daylight but sort of weird looking too.
So today is the first day of fall. lets hope we start having fall like weather now. I just cant stand that excessive heat like we had almost all summer and then the horrible cold we had last winter. all of it is about to do me in. i hate to think of this comming winter. i know that we will NOT be here for the cold this year. I am going to have to find somepleace that is milder temps to live in  for sure.

well got to go get laundry done up and make the bed, and try to get a little work outside done before i go to work. lol  talk to you all later.

I haven't been on much the last week due to my eye infection.  My eye is much better and I have vision again.  Really scary when you can't see a thing out of your eye.  The doctor say it started due to my eyes being too dry.  If I had only gone in when I first noticed my eye wouldn't open without a lot of pain, I could have avoided all this.  No more putting in drops every 2 hours overnight.

Jan, I missed you.  I would sign on and no messages from you and it was very disappointing.  I'm so sorry you're feeling down.  Hope you feel better soon.  I know all about work and how some get by with anything and others have to follow the rules.  We don't have a lot of that in my office but for awhile it was really bad.  One young woman dresses just awful, takes absolutely no pride in her appearance and wears flip flops when the office manager is out.  She's been talked to but doesn't improve.

I'm going back to work Monday.  I'm so thankful I can read again.  The past week I've gotten so bored with no reading and just listening to TV.  I can drive again!!  It really helps to have both eyes working when you drive.

Since I wasn't up to much cooking, we took advantage of coupons.  Today I did make Cole Slaw and it was really good.  I've finally found a recipe I like.

Tomorrow I see my surgeon if I don't cancel.  Part of me wants to go and get it over with and the other part wants to put it off.

Glad you liked the grocery list.  That site has a list for about everything.

I love the Kindle.  Today is the first day I've been able to read due to my eye infection.  I did enlarge the fonts on the Kindle and read a little but it hurt too much to read.  The other eye sympathized with the bad eye and I could hardly keep either of them open.
