I'm sorry we missed you last night, Beverly!!  The next one is scheduled for Nov 28 at the Hospital in the Education Center.  Informational meeting is at 6 then support group at 7.  I think we may be looking at doing the support group twice a month if we can get enough interest....that way if Wednesday is a night that doesn't work, maybe the other one will!  Hope to see you in November!!

Back to basics.   Really take a hard look at what you are eating and when...are you eating because it is dinner time or because you are really hungry?  And increase the protein intake...way up!!  And don't get discouraged...the body has set points, so anywhere you maintained a weight for a significant period of time, you may experience a bit of struggle to get past.  Keep on the plan, you will overcome!!!

I haven't been on here in FOREVER but I wanted to let everyone know that our information and support group meetings are back!!!  Dr. Joseph has been here for 2 months now and is eagerly starting hislocal  practice.  Along with that, the information meeting will be held on Wednesday, October 24 at 6 pm in the Education Center at Bothwell Regional Health Center in Sedalia.  Right after that, at 7 pm is the post surgery support group.  I am SO excited that our meetings are happening again!!  Hope to see you all there!!

Topic: RE: Bariatric doctors near Fort Leonard Wood?
Ladies, I need some help.  I am supposed to be having my surgery 2wk from today here at Fort Hood.  My husband is pcs'ing later next year to FLW.  I called the post hospital today to see if their general surgery would be willing to see me as a patient, the surgeon who did our seminar said that they can follow bariatric patients if willing.  Anyway the lady asked the head nurse and told me no, I have to follow up with my original surgeon.  So they expect me to drive 1400mi round trip for all my follow up visits?  I am concerned the surgeons off post wont accept me since they wont be the ones who did my original surgery.  On top of that I'm getting VSG so I know tricare won't cover follow up and I'll be paying out of pocket.  Just a mess right now and I can't rest easy until I know there is a surgeon out there who will follow up with me.  Any ideas?

Topic: RE: 9 Years Surgiversary today!!!!
Hello Girlfriend,

I also have put on about 30 lbs but after seeing Dr. H last month...he does not want me to lose but about 10 lbs now...So not so bad. I have been eating alot of carbs so that is my problem. I only hear from Jan on facebook and not that much. They are doing well, harvested their first crop of coffee beans and replanted more. They are taking spanish lessons.  I see Debbie Drury often. She is doing well also. We all need to get together again. Maybe next spring we can get that together. Glad to hear you are doing well.

Hugs

Topic: How to break a plateau?
I have hit a plateau. Been there for about 3 months. Anyone have an idea of how to break it? Someone wrote on here about a vegetable soup or something. I don't know. What do y'all think of fruit? Think it can hold up your weight loss?
