Tuesday 11/2/10 at 7 am I started my new life, The surgery was to take 45 minutes but took 3.5 hours. Dr Scott said he encountered a very large fatty liver and fat in surrounding areas and had to clip thourgh it all. Dr Scott said "it looks nice in there, I did a good job." ( said with a smile) Will seen him for post op on Monday to get staples out, I have 8 puncture sites one for the pain pump and one for the JP drain all removed yesterday before DC from the hospital. The other six I guess were for instuments. The are mainily on my right side. Seems weird as the stomach in on the left side of the sternum. Have three staples in each of those 6 sites. Spent two nights in ICU surgical stepdown and two on the surgical floor. When I got up to walk My O2 sats would drop to the 70's so I need O2 and by the time I left there were in the 90". Cannot complain about the pain was managable -abdomen mainly hurts when getting in and out of bed or going to standing or sitting. Had Morphine in the hosp and to Lorcet and dc on lorcet , now taking tylenol adult liquid. I find it hard to even describe the FULL feeling if their is one, I just seem to belcha lot if I drink more than the 30ml cup every 15 minutes. Takes FOREVER to get the vitamens and meds down. Passing plenty of gas and burps. No poop yet. but only having liquids for two weeks pre op and the NPO day of surgery I guess I am kinda empty in the bowels. . I got 2 IV bags of 1000cc and the 150 cc hr iv with potassium and vitamens. I am sooo very tired yesterday and today (Saturday) napping a lot. So here is my story aand I'm sticking to it. Love Maja
proud to do so. I started voting when JFK became president. Am so patriotic. Love my
Country. Wish everyone did as well. Have a good trip visiting your Family. Have a safe
trip.
this site is hardly used. Why??
The cigs are a bad habit but you won't get arrested for smoking. Greg used to always have a comeback compaing drinking to this and that. His GF has a shopping problem and drinks nothing but sugary Mountain Dew and Sprite and yes those are bad habits, but you won't get in trouble with the law doing those.
He has been thru detox several times, but the last time he did it at home with no medical help. He said it was the worst detox and he never wants to do that again. I'm wondering if in the hospital they kept him sedated so much he didn't realize how bad it was.
I would really like to meet you and Jan. If you're ever in the Kansas City area maybe we can meet.

Hi OH,
I'm sitting at my daughter's in KC. Jan, so glad to here that Michelle is doing so good. Enjoy your pedicure never had one, but think next time I want a set of nails will try that instead.
Jo~sounds like your son is doing good, sometimes it takes a few starts, ( like Jan said) before it finally works. I am addicted to cigarettes and I have been trying to quit. If I keep trying I'm going to be sucessful, I think it works with other addictions the same way, you really want to kick it and keep trying it is finally defeated.
Well need to close now, hope everyone has a great week-end.
HUGS
keep praying for him and i will continue to add him to my prayer list.

Just keep gaining weight..beginning to worry that there is something wrong but won't have insurance until the first of the year.
My son seems to be doing well. He spent the day with Max yesterday and Max said he thoroughly enjoyed their time together. Greg told him he has not had a drink since Oct. 15th. That's the night I called the police. He said the detox was just awful and he never wants to go thru that again. He has been walking 30 minutes a day and has lost 2 pants sizes. He says he feels so good now. Next Wednesday he meets with his attorney and he's going to ask about the breathalyzer that's installed in the car.
No big plans for my weekend. Max is going to the hockey tonight and tomorrow night so I will have some "me" time. I need to make a Walmart run this evening. We will go to IHOP for breakfasttomorrow, and I'm supposed to meet with my literacy student tomorrow afternoon.
