Usually it is an insurance requirement not the bariatric practice. In other words your policy may require it and mine might not. If you both have the same insurance coverage then the requirement will be the same no matter where you have the surgery. Unless there is a medical reason such as fatty liver condition or something like that involved. Then the surgeon might require a longer liquid diet to reduce the size of your liver.
Hope this helps explain the process a little better and good luck with your surgery,
Connie

I'm not faviliar with St. Alaxius.  I had my surgery in Kansas City.  I know it sounds great not to have to wait 6 months, but really, you need that time to start getting adjusted to all the changes you will experience after surgery.

I did a 3 month diet and exercise plan and thought it was crazy.  I had dieted for 35 years and it never worked so why do another 3 months.  But, during that time, I learned to eat slower and chew, chew, chew.

I had RNY.  I work with someone that had the band and she had to prep at all.  She lost 80 lbs. then quit following the rules of the surgery and gained most of her weight back.

Good luck to you.  Hope you find the care you need.

It's very warm here this morning but extremely windy.  Darn the luck but I was going to help Max rake the backyard.  Can't do it with all the wind.

Yes, Greg going to church and it was his idea.  Barb's parents have more or less ordered them to go to church and couples counseling or they won't help them financially.  That's not the way to do it.  Greg is talking about going to AA this evening.

I'm making a small quilt for the little girl I adopted from the Angel Tree.  I have some pieces left from a Barbie quilt I made a few years ago.  There are 2 20" squares with Barbie print and I added borders of light pink solid and a pink print.

This week I'm going to try to have shakes twice a day and try to keep down the carbs.  I've gotten in a really bad snacking habit.  They are healthy snacks but I'm too full at mealtime and can't eat much.  I know I need to de-carb.

Yesterday I made a new recipe, Holiday Party Mix.  Very sweet and way too high in calories and carbs.  I'm going to package it in baggies and take some to my niece's kids when I babysit Wednesday evening.  Max thinks it's delicious so hope he eats it.  The sweetness made me kind of sick.

Tonight is Tilapia, salad and potatoes and yes I'll keep my potatos very, very small.

Has anyone been to St. Alexius NewStart in the St Louis area?  Are they good and have u had good results from goin there?  I think I had a friend who went there cause she had the lap band done and she has the medical card(IL) and she didn't have to do the 6 months of supervised visits with them and the site was they don't make u did if you have the medical card or medicare.  She went over a couple of times then had the surgery.

Thanks

this is really quick this morning , dont have much time at all.....Joe has to be in Branson by 9:30 for another eipadural in his back ...he went to bend over Saturday to pick something up and the pain hit...so it is time....anyway i told him i wanted him to be in fair shape when we went on vacation ....
by the time he gets out of there and we stop by wal mart to get some protein bars and look around some it would be too late to come back home and then for him to drive me back to work....sure wish i could find someone to take me home tonight so he wont have to get back out....he needs to rest after those shots...but if he lays down to sleep he might not wake back up in time to come and get me....

really warm out this morning isnt it? sure feels and looks like rain , guess it probably wont here ...even the lake is way way down....oh wow maybe tomorrow i can go down and walk on the sand bar....i love walking there and havent been able to in quite a while ....but i bet it is all out of water now.....always lots of neat things to find there. arrow heads , pieces of pottery....

well got to go get my face out of the drawer...(thats where my makeup is at)  talk to you all tonight....

Susie still praying for your brother.
