Poor guy.  Wonder if he will give up motorcycles now.  Sounds like he broke about all his bones.  It's a miracle he is doing as well as he is.

Hope he continues to improve.

He is still in very bad shape. He has eight broken ribs, two very bad ones. Liver lacerations, broken clavicle, scapula, both arms, right leg(which he had surgery on),fingers. He has road rash and cuts that required stitches. They do think he has no brain injuries which is remarkable after seeing his helmet. His left wrist is badly crushed and that will be the next surgery as soon as his lungs allow it. He is still on a respirator and feeding tube and they are keeping him heavily sedated and most likely will for several weeks. We do think he is going to survive. Blood clots and pneumonia are concerns

Please keep him in prayer

He was traveling at a pretty fast speed when he had to lay the bike down to avoid hitting another rider. The front of the group had stopped and the rear was trying to catch up. The accordion effect was the reason he crashed, that and operator error. No one else was hurt thankfully. I just heard if he isn't breathing on his own by Weds. they will put in a trach. They are going to have to put a chest tube in today because of swelling and fluid around the lungs but are going to try to get the wrist surgery soon.

All the patriot guard and CMA riders have been so nice, they really look after their own.

Glad everyone had a good Thanksgiving. We went to Touche restaurant in Spgfld and had a great buffet with all the traditional foods and turkey, roast beef and steak. I stuck with the turkey and gravy and did great. Friday we went to Eureka Springs for the day and did some shopping and walked around and played. I just love it there - would go once a month if I lived a little closer. They pretty much close down after Christmas - like Branson - but come April I'll be ready to go again. One store I like had 25% off everything but I had already bought jewelry so I didn't get anything else. I got all excited to go to the farmers market Saturday and forgot that it had shut down for the year. I just went to Macy's instead and got some INC black jeans - haven't decided if I'm keeping them or not. I do that alot. Get something and then decide to take it back. I'm goofy - as you all know.
Tomorrow is back to school. I feel so lazy after four days off. Have to work on the building the class schedules for Summer 2011 and Fall 2011. About 200 classes total. It's lots of data entry and I may not get much done until after finals when the kids go home. They come in with problems often.
Just about have my Christmas shopping done. I'm so glad.
Hugs to all

Well, Jan, here we are, just you and me.  I'm going to try your protein coffee idea tomorrow.  For a long, long time I had my protein coffee every morning, 7 days a week.  Then, I just got tired of it.  I will track my protein every other day this week to make sure I'm ok there.  I'm faithful with my vitamins, fish oil and calcium.  Also take B vitamins.

I made German Chocolate Pie and Pecan Merinque Pie to take to my niece's.  I used Splenda instead of sugar.  In my old life I would have been drooling at the thought of eating these desserts, but not now.  I can pass up dessert, no problem.  I made the guys grilled cheese sandwiches for lunch and also made a pot of Potato Soup.  I had a cup and was so full.

Back to work tomorrow but that's ok.  I do like my job.  Yesterday I worked on the Barbie quilt.

wasnt pretty ? gosh when i was going to work on Thanksgiving day and it started snowing i thought oh no im not ready for this yet...good grief. i sure didnt want to be stuck at work...our DON told everyone the day before Thanksgiving that if you are scheduled to work on Holiday and you call in , you are fired.  At least she didnt have to make that call since no one called in . i guess because most all of us that were there wanted to be there because of the extra money .....the facility fed all of us too which was nice of them....

Have got my Christmas tree up and most of the things outside that i want put out.  I have two of these big wooden deers that i bought at a garage sale about 10 years ago and im going to have to make patterns off of them and make some new ones this next year for sure...they are starting to really wear out....I will make the new ones out of the outdoor plywood , i guess that is what these are made of since they have lasted so long. ....these are painted white and i tie a bright red ribbon around their necks ....they look really festive in the front yard....i told Joe i wish i had about a dozen of them i think they would really be pretty all over the yard.

Have to go work here in a little while so i need to get up and get a bath and wash my hair soon....yuck would rather just zone out in my house today,.....im getting really lazy since there isnt much to do outside in the yard. That is one reason why we go away in winter i think so i will stay active lol  if it is pretty outside i am out there if doing nothing but walking at least it is better than sitting in the house all day ....

well got to get busy....love you all....

Jo i dont think of my protein coffee as that, i think if it as a cappachino because the way i make it that is that is what it taste like....i put about a half package of  sugar free hot choc mix in with the protein and splenda...mix that up and then add the coffee....i love it ...and have been doing that every day for over a year. ....sometimes i will put a dollop of sugar free whipped cream on top but not often.

finding things that taste good is always a chore ....what we use to love just isnt right now is it.? i have found i like really simple things that have different seasons on them . i use a lot of hot seasons tho i know that a lot of people cant eat them for me and my tummy it is what it likes....

Good Mornign OH,

My DD and her DH and DD just left, just have my older DS and two of the GC left here. They will be here til tomorrow morning.

Jan~I officially start school this Monday, have to be there between 06:30 and 07:00. School last 3 weeks, hopefully will have a job set up by the end of the last week. Am really excited now.

I have read several articles from medical profressional that say sometimes when we have cravings it's our bodies way of telling us there is a need for something like minerals, vitamins or maybe not enough of some nutrient. Since you are good for a few days maybe it's just not getting enough rest. Then again could just be the Holidays and winter coming in.

Sorry to hear about Vesta's husband passing. I pray that she has a good support system with her.

Getting ready to take a nap, Loved the Thanksgiving but it really wore me out. I did really great with the food, I made myself a sugar free crustless pumpkin custard and enjoyed having that for my desert, until I got sick after eating it, at first I thought because of the canned milk it might have too rich, then I looked at the whipped topping I thought was sugar free, turns out I grabbed the regular by mistake. Won't do that again. Also found out I can't drink egg nog, didn't dump, but had to lay down until I got rid of the quesyness.

We had Turkey Tacos yesteday and today I am making the boys take all the food they can carry home with them. The only thing I want is the little bit of Turkey I saved for me.

I hope everyone had a good Thanks-giving, I am Thankful for the wonderful people that post on this board.

HUGS
