Can you believe only 5 days till Christmas.  Where did this year go??  I did some baking yesterday and dipped pretzel rods in chocolate and sprinkles.  The bread will go to friends and my kids.  Way too high in carbs for me but I'm going to make my own bread.  The pretzel rods were a total pain to mess with.  I finally dipped them, laid on wax paper and sprinkled the stuff over them.

Until I had RNY, I baked and made oodles of candy and stuff for Christmas.  Now I think I was really doing it because I wanted it.  I did give a lot away, but I ate a lot of it.  It just doesn't interest me now.  I'd rather be reading or sewing or something that doesn't involve a mess to clean up.  The sugar just doesn't sit well and I know I won't maintain or lose any weight eating that junk.

Last week I lost 1.4 lbs.......not earth shattering but it's a loss.  I feel so much better when I'm eating healthy.

Hope all of you have a great day!!

Sounds like you're doing well.  I'm 2 1/2 years out and I can't eat enough protein so I have to have supplements.  I tried the whey liquid shots last week, but I just don't like the taste.  I put it in water but it tastes nasty.  I like Any Whey protein powder.  It doesn't have much taste to I add it to foods.

I've never hunted and that wouldn't be my thing at all.  I'm an indoor gal, love to cook, sew, read, quilt and scrapbook.  I ordered quail in a restaurant and didn't like it at all.  I thought I had eaten it before but it must have been pheasant I ate.

Keep up the good work and have a great Christmas.

Hey gals,

I missed ya'll while I went quail hunting in Texas last week. Long days, hot weather, dry weather all conspired to make for horrible quail hunting. However, I walked at least 5 miles per day and got lots of exercise. Still struggling with water and protein (geez, you'd think I'd get it by now) - but have added foods now and *think* I can get my protein in with foods now since I was puking on the protein shakes.

I'm down to 203.8lbs weighing in today. Will update the ticker thingee soon. Hope everyone is ready for a great Christmas week.

Take care!

I got to speak to my brother on the phone for a minute today. He knew who I was but he got really confused while talking. He fell out of the bed the first night he was in the VA hospital so now they have him in a lower bed and have someone sitting with him. I think he is getting extra attention due to the fact he was the volunteer of the year there last year. I am concerned about his confusion.
He took a big hit to the head and was knocked out so I hope there is not any damage and its just all the meds.

Its gonna be a different Christmas here, my youngest is not coming home. First time ever. I hope I don't get too depressed. Oldest one will come over at least for a while so that will help.

DH and I are planning a trip to Paris in the spring. Really looking forward to that. Couldn't have  enjoyed a long plane ride two years ago.

Hope you all have a great day.

Jeanie, I can feel your happiness thru the computer.  Good luck and safe traveling to you.

My sinus problem is much improved, but I had a reaction to the Augmenton.  I was itching something awful Friday afternoon.  Then I broke out in hives on my arms.  I called the doctor and he prescribed the Z pack and said take a Benadryl.  I thought I was going to have to leave work, but one of the girls had a Benadryl.  It calmed down the itching right away.  Made me a little sleepy, but not so bad I couldn't drive.

I thought one Benadryl would take care of it, but about 9 p.m. I was itching on my back and my knees.....weird.  Took another one and went to bed.

Greg got his 30 day sobriety coin Friday evening.  He fixed dinner for us Friday evening and it was delicious. A little high carb, but it's one of his favorite.  He baked pork chops with rice and Stove Top.  He likes to cook so I'm going to take advantage of that.

Went Christmas shopping yesterday morning and JCPenney's has the bargains.  Got Max a shirt originally priced at $40 and I paid $2.83.  Little girls' tights for under $5.  Got myself a couple sweaters for $13.  Full price for all I bought was $205 and I paid $137.  Of course, I wouldn't have paid full price.

I have chicken thawing.  Going to spray it with olive oil and sprinkle with seasoning and cook in my new convection oven.

Have a great day!!

Hello my OH Family,

Am in KC at my DD's house, everyone is sleeping, except myself, Maggie (the dog) and my DD, she has to work today. Will be leaving here around noon to drive to Omaha, NE. Check in at the Motel tonight and then be at Werner's Terminal at 06:30 for orientation.

Can't wait til I'm on the road, even though this is a tough time of the year for driving. Still wake up thinking I'm dreaming, but this is really happening.

Not much more to write about now, just wanted to say howdy, hope everyone has a good Sunday.
