I don't post here often anymore, normally just read the posts. I'm now 1 1/2 years post op down to 144 pounds, and almost at my personal goal. It seems weird that time has gone by so fast! Well, I went to the gastroenterologist today for the burning/sharp pains I'm having in my stomach. Tomorrow I'm having an endoscopy to see what the exact problem is. The doctor thinks it's an ulcer, but said there is a chance somethings going on with my staple line. I pray to God it's not my staple line!!! This now reminds me why we're never to have NSAID's -- which I have had a few times recently .. ok more than a few. It's a definite reminder I'm not "normal" and need to stop thinking I'm invincible. I wish I had listened and taken better care of myself! I did everything right until these last few months. I guess it's a wake up call! Any prayers would be greatly appriciated! Chrissy 283/144/135

Hi Chrissy. Sorry to hear you are having problems. I hope it is something simple that wont cause much problem. Thanks for the reminder that we are not the same and that we do need to follow the rules of the pouch. Again I hope everything works out well for you. Wayne

It is possible to get an ulcer in the part of the stomach we dont use anymore. I had one last year. The good news is prevacid healed it up and I just have to take a generic prilosec daily. I think I got my ulcer from taking an asprin a day for my heart. Our pouches are just very sensitive. Hope everything goes ok .
