Now on with Pre-op testing questions

Did anyone here have to have the EGD (scope down the throat)? My cousin didn't when she had her surgery. Ok, be honest, how bad is it? I am more nervous about that than the surgery. Going for it next Thursday (was scheduled sooner but it got postponed).

I personally have not had this done. A friend of mine, however, had to have this done several times (she had a problem with strictures). Even though she was not "out" for the procedure, she remembers very little...she says she was pretty drugged up. I'm sure you will be just fine! Congratulations on your approval! Pamela

I have had an EGD done twice and was very nervous the first time. It is very simple and I had no pain what so ever. The doctor told me my throat would probably be a little soar, but it never was. It is a breeze (and I am a big wimp). They put you to sleep and you wake up a little later with no pain. Dawn
