Barnes/Jewish Hospital St.Louis

Hi all, Has anyone else on Medicare had your surgery canceled because Barnes/Jewish is not yet a Center of Excellence? Is your Dr. J. Chris Eagon? What is the word on how long we will have to wait for the hospital to get approval?

Dawn, I was not at the Barnes one but I was going through Boone in Columbia with Dr. Pitt. I was about to get my surgery and I was canceled as well.....They told me it was going to take quite sometime for them to be approved....NOW there are a few of us who switched over to Sedalia under Dr. Hornbostels care....the hospital there was already in the process of getting certified and they just had their walk through inspection a couple of weeks ago...You might want to check into that. I live up north near the Iowa border but yet I have to go way down there but God is helping me. ...I hope this helped you out ...Craig Lee
