ok although im like Jan, waiting to get my surgery from Doc Hornsbostel. I just remembered today that already I reached a major goal in my life..After my first try of WLS 4years ago, I didnt have much luck. The doctor I found was in Hannibal, Missouri and Just right when I was going for surgery he had to stop working because of the state wide Malpractice Insurance Heist for the doctors. Then I gave it ago again, this time he moved to Springfield. YES, Dr. Hodges is awesome. Well, then I became very lost and my health became worse..THEN, like a dummy I started to smoke again after being smoke free for three years....THEN, when I found out I could get it from Columbia, Missouri. I had to stop.........NOW, Dr. Hornsbostel told us that smoking is not an Issue with him. BUT, hey I quit smoking, and I do not have a desire to ever do it again in my life. To me that is a big accomplishment. I think now I can do just about anything that I want to do. Do you think I will be a good LOSER???????

way to go Craig. I stopped smoking in 1993 It wasnt easy and without Jesus doing it I dont think i could have made it but I did. My husband has finally quit smoking now too. He has been without cigs now for 7 weeks.I am so proud of him. Have you heard anything from Dr. Hornbostel yet? Did you find out from him or his office if you have to pay the medicare deductable up front or not? Jan

Craig, As a non-smoker and as motivated as you are - you'll be an AWESOME, GREAT LOSER!! Congratulations on your accomplishment! Smoking is a huge detriment to healthy healing from surgery not to mention in living your life. I know how hard it is to stop smoking as my father smoked for as long as I can remember three packs of cigarettes a day! He was like a chimney and always had one in his hand. He coughed and hacked to the point you could hardly carry on a conversation with him. I respect anyone that can kick the habit and stay a non-smoker. It is such a difficult thing to overcome. Way to go! Cathy ObesityHelp Support Group Specialist

Way to go on the quitting smoking. I quit about 15 years. Take the money you save and put it in savings to buy you something you have always wanted after your surgery. And yes, you will be a GREAT loser. Wayne
