Sedalia Seminar!!

Hi everyone!! I attended the WLS Seminar in Sedalia on April 5th also and was very enlightened by Dr. Hornbostel's presentation. He was very thorough in the information he gave and my husband and son-in-law were even impressed. My son-in-law is from a town not to far from Sedalia and helped us find the hospital. I was hoping to meet Colette myself, but didn't know you by sight. THank you again for the info about the hospital's inspection for COE. My husband, son-in-law, and myself was sitting on the back row, I was feeling kind of funny because we were the only blacks there for awhile and everyone seemed a little unfriendly, but Dr. Hornbostel was great, so I'm going to try and have my surgery done there. I've got to get my application sent in etc. How many of Dr. Hornboste's seminars do you have to attend? My hope is getting stronger and I'm feeling more encouraged that it may happen yet

I remember seeing you all there . You only have to attend one seminar and send in your paper and then Dena sits you up with an appointment to see him one one one. I hope things work out for you . I have sent in my paper already but will have to wait until the COE is complete before I can have surgery . I am like you I was very impressed with the Doctor. mainly that he didnt have someone else do the seminar for him but did it all himself. Maybe we will get to meet again sometime soon. Jan

Hi Jan! Yes, it was great that the Dr. did the seminar himself. I learned more about the way he does the Leak issue than the Dr. here in KCMO and I feel that it is a better way. The hospital looks good as well, it's only an hour forty minute drive for me from KC so that won't be too bad since I have plenty of drivers that are willing to get me there and back. Well LOL, God bless!!

We are about 2 hours and 30 minutes south of Sedalia . I will have my Husband who will drive me and maybe my sister if she doesnt have her surgery at the same time. You know the only reason really that they say you cant drive right away is because maily of the pain meds that you might be taking i think. Good to talk to someone that is in the same stage as I am. Hi Colette, Good to hear from you I just didn't know you by sight and I wasn't sure if I was going to be able to come because I can't see well enough to drive at night anymore and can't drive at all in the rain. So when my son-in-law offered to come with us I was elated. I live in the south KC area and my daughter lives just off Chipman in LS, and I've seen a few places to eat around where she lives but I'm not familiar with LS at all and I'm born and raised in KC so let me know and I'll see if we can meet up sometime.
