PRE-OP SEMI-NEWBIE

Hi, I am waiting out my 6 months supervised diet. Will get to turn in my paperwork again after the 18th of April. It seems like an eternity. I am kind of losing my gusto. I quit smoking November 27th, quit all hormone therapy Feburary 2nd, WAS doing good on not drinking with meals, breathing exercises, etc in preparation, but - - now I have been eating like crazy, have gained 20 lbs. My surgeon does not require weight loss or I would be sunk. I need this surgery so bad, but the longer I wait and the more miserable I become, the more discouraged I get. I have an umbilical hernia and several others that the surgeon will fix when I get there. The hernias hurt some days really bad. Can't understand why the insurance company would insist on waiting when I have these horrible hernias. I have been studying this subject and started seeing Doctors in October. I had all my pre-op testing done in January. All I have left is doctors pre-op diet and blood work again. Hate the waiting ! By the way, my name is Deanna also. I see there must be someone else that had her surgery complete with the name Deanna. Hope everything is well with her. welcome....dont you just hate all the waiting but I guess we will get there one day or the other. Im like you waiting but mine is because I am on medicare and have to wait for a hospital to get a certificate of Excellence that medicare requires...always something. Jan

Thank you for the encouragement. Sometimes we feel like everyone else is getting their surgery but us But, I am sure there are plenty of people who had to wait also. We just have to wait our turn. I am 57 and have 4 grandkids under the age of 3. I am wanting to play with them and take them to the circus and be able to sit in a seat ! I will try and keep focused. Thanks again

Hello Deanna. I'm sorry you have had such a long wait. Your time is almost here. Try not to worry about the 20 pounds. Try to refocus on the reasons you are having the surgery and recommit to doing the things you need to to make you a success. You have a lot of people here who will support you and are rooting for you to be a success. Keep your head up and keep focused. Wayne

Thanks for the response. I will get my head on straight and get focused. In fact, I think I will get my books out and re-read them. That always gets me in tune. Thanks !
