I had hernia repair on 3/28. He ended up putting in mesh from under my breasts down to the other end and side to side. I have 12 laproscopic incisions. He said I should not have to have another hernia repair. But man does it STILL hurt bad. I was in the hospital until Sat. Now I'm home still on pain meds. I tried getting off them and just doing tylenot but I could not take it! Otherwise everything is going fine. Hope the pain subsides soon.

I am glad that you are home and not still in the hospital. I know that it must hurt but there is just something about being home and in your own surroundings that makes recuperation so much easier!... Don't try to go without your meds if you need them. That is what they are there for.... Make sure that you continue to hydrate well and get that protein in... best that you can. It will help you recuperate that much faster! Take care kiddo and glad to see you posting again... Elizabeth~

Hey Teresa, Haven't seen you around for a while. I'm glad you are home from four surgery. Hopefully everything works out well and you never have to have this done again. Take your meds and follow your Docs orders and hopefully the pain will subside quickly. Wishing you the best with the recovery and hoping to see you around more often. Wayne

Oh my gosh, do I remember my hernia repair and I feel for you big time! My mesh was big too but I only had 9 incisions. The pain meds are a godsend most times and just pray that you dont get a nagging cough -- ouch!! Another thing to remember is, no matter how much you push for bowel movements, that mesh will stay in place, so dont let yourself get bound up (personal experience info there lol) I had mine done on Dec 19, 2005 and am just now what I would call 'fully recooped' from it. It will seem like it will never stop hurting. Even when you arent in pain anymore, which is about 3 weeks, if you try to stand for long periods of time or walk alot it will start pulling again and you will be humped over again for a while so just take it easy lady and definitely get those shakes in. Take care and good luck recovering. Darlene 411/286/220
