First Health anyone??

Chantay... A kind of reversed way of looking at it would be to contact a surgeon that you are wanting to use to see if they have worked with any patients that have the same coverage that you do. They might be able to give you some information regarding what this type of insurance requires in the way of paperwork. It is worth a shot... bear in mind that there can be several different types of policies under First Health though... which one your employer has enrolled in will finally spell out the exact requirements and/or coverage. I would first refer to your benefits booklet to see if there is an exclusion. Then you could contact your insurance company and find out what you need to do. They will have the most accurate information for you. Good luck and keep us informed. Dannielle

I have First Health (HCA) and it requires the following: 1-6 mos physician supervised diet (believe me, no exceptions on the physician supervised part. 1-psych eval 1-nutrition consult I am having surgery with Dr. Jessie Lopez in Leawood Ks. He seems competent. But I have to wait till august until surgery b/c of first health.
