back from St. Louis...
Well I made it back saftly from St.Louis. I am a little disappointed. I have ONLY lost 70 pounds. I know, I know 70 pounds is huge and in only 3 months, but my personal goal was to be between 75-100 hoping to be more closer to 100. This is when I wish I had a scale, then I would have known where I stood and not had such a shock when I got to the Dr. Now with that being said, I can't believe I have lost 70 pounds. That is on track to lose 280 in 12 months, 20 pounds shy of my goal weight. I am giong to try to increase the loss by uping my exercise, protien and water. I really appreciate the support and friendship I have found on this board. You guys make this process a WHOLE lot more manageable. Have a good Friday and a GREAT weekend.

Excellent progress Wayne - good for you! While you may not have reached the hundred pound mark (which is very aggressive), 70 pounds down in a 3-month period is a remarkable accomplishment you should celebrate. Just remember back to 3-months ago and how you felt then compared to how you feel now. I bet there's a big difference and it's only going to get better.
Be patient and stick to the basics. Your plan of increased exercise, water and protein will keep you on-track. If you're not doing it already, track your caloric intake and make sure you're getting in an adequate amount. If you want to accelerate your loss, you might need to increase your calories as well - give your body additional fuel to burn off the pounds. The lower the calories the better the weight loss is a myth and common pitfall. You've got to achieve a balance and amount of healthy calories and good carbohydrates to give your body the fuel it needs to sustain maximum weight loss. Fitday.com is a great tool for tracking.
Keep up the good work and congratulations!!

70 pounds is a great start. If you do nothing more than walk that is real good. Walk as much and as often as your body will allow you and the weight will really start to come off. As you increase your metabolism and build muscle you have says bye bye. If you can walk 2 or 3 times a day for at least a mile it will do wonders for you. If you can use a treadmill use it. Do as much exercise as you can tolerate and the smaller you get the more you will be able to do, and the skinnier you will get. Work on establishing good habits you can use the rest of your life. I should be able to come to the next support group meeting and maybe we can get together with card fan. I had to work last month and could not come.
