Anyone heard from MO Senate Bill 597?

Michelle.. No I haven't heard anything... during the last couple of months I did manage to write to ALL of the Senators in Missouri save for one (who wouldn't accept emails from anyone out of their district)... I actually got some written (via regular mail) letters from some of them and they weren't mass mailing generated... but real letters! I am in the process of talking with them right now... and trying to see if we can get a better "voice" to the problem.... Let me know if you hear anything... Elizabeth~

I testified at the hearing for Senate bill 597. There were only three of us there 2 pre-op and 1 post op. There were a huge number of insurance representatives to voice their opposition. Their main argument was cost to the insurance companies of course. I wish I could say we had a chance this year for this bill but I truely don't think it will get passed. Senator Days ,the bill sponsor ,is fantastic and will continue proposing this bill. We needed more support to be there in front of these senators showing we are a large number of citizens of Missouri and not just 3. It hasn't been voted on ,so not all hope is lost, but I woldn't bank on it this year. Dannielle

Dannielle... I wish that I could of been there with you folks but my work issues are just that.. ISSUES. Arrgghhhhhhhhh I have a hard enough time getting off for a drs. appt. let alone something like this.
