Has anyone used Dr. Hoehn? I found out he is in network for my insurance and that could mean a difference of about $5200 for me. I am going to Dr. Hoehn's seminar on Monday and will see what I think of him. I have had my consult with Dr. Kaniewski already and like her but if I can get this done for $5400 less I will have to do that.

Have you checked out the "Bariatric Surgeons" on OH? You can read the reviews of what his patients have same about a surgeon and the program, along with the facility. I am not familiar with Dr. Hoehn but I'm sure someone will be able to help you. Just wanted to suggest that you check on OH too. Cathy ObesityHelp Support Group Specialist

Thanks! I have gotten the names from here. I will be going to Hoehn's seminar and see what i think of him. Dr. K. has a 0% mortality rate and I like that. She also does 100% WLS surgery and that is another plus to me but would like to have less out of pocket expense if I can.

Hello DSS. I am sorry that you may have to switch Drs. I think going to his seminar is a good start. You should be able to get a good idea of him as a person and his philosophy of WLS. Its sad that the deciding factor on choosing a Dr is financial. I will pray that the seminar goes well and that you are confidant in your choice of physician. Keep us informed. Wayne

Yes, Dr Hoehn was my surgeon. He has a wonderful record and he did a wonderful job. I had a fantastic experience with the hospital and all the group that he has you see for pre-op work are fabulous. He is kinda quiet but will anwser all your questions. He likes very informed patients and gives you lots on info so you know exactly what you are getting into. They have a website for their office now. You must request him or you may get assigned to his partner Dr. Hitch**** who is also very good. He is much older and has been doing bariatric surgery for 30 years. He is a little stricter on his patients and wants them using urine sticks all the time and such. Both seem to be wonderful dr. I think you'll like them very much. They trade off on who gived the seminars so it may not be Dr. Hoehn who is doing it this time. But they have great success rates and have never lost anyone. Good Luck with them.

Thanks for the replies. Yes, Wayne it is sad that I may have to switch doctors due to financial reasons ($5000 difference is alot. If I could just win that dang Powerball, ). I am trying to find out if Dr. K.'s office can get the insurance to pay as if they were in network, they have done this for some people. My husband told me to go ahead with Dr. K. if her success rate is better though. I guess I will keep praying about it and go ahead with whatever doctor God sees fit for me. Thanks, again.
