Been MIA for a little while. I got very sick and took myself to the ER last Wednesday. They admitted me with pancreatitus, severe dehydration, a urinary tract infection and then eventually we found that my gall bladder was full of stones. I had my gallbladder removed last Friday by Dr. Scott. I feel 10 times better now that I am not constantly throwing up. I still gag often and I have thrown up once since being home again. I got out Saturday night and was fine until yesterday when I attempted crackers with peanut butter. The pancreatitus they said will go away now that my gallbladder is gone, and the UTI cleared up with IV antibiotics. The process of getting an IV was horrible, my veins were actually shriveling and shrinking up and I was stuck literally 12 times including their failed attempt at putting a central line in my groin. Finally they found a vein in my shoulder and I was good to go. I am so glad I am over this bump in the road and I am back to work on Monday. Finally there is a light at the end of my tunnel. I gained 13 pounds because of the IV fluids so I have to work at going back down. I am down a total of 29 pounds so far. Glad to be back and I hope everyone is well here!

Angela... I'm very sorry that you had such a rough go of it.... ((hugs)) but on the other hand I am ELATED that you were able to recognize that something was amiss and get good medical treatment.. Each and every day you will be getting stronger and stronger... and hopefully soon this will be but a bad memory for you. Wishing you nothing but the best in the upcoming days/weeks.... Make sure that you continue to monitor your health and let your drs. know if something doesn't seem quite right..... Elizabeth~

Hi Angela, I'm glad you are feeling better and are back with us! Gallbladder problems are very painful so you'll continue to feel much better than you were before you had the symptoms. You're doing great! Those IV 13 TEMPORARY pounds will vanish before you know it. Take care of yourself and welcome back!! Cathy ObesityHelp Support Group Specialist
