Does anyone here know anything about or have you had bariatric surgery from Dr. Jesse Lopez in Kansas City? Thanks, L.

Leah, When I first started researching surgery, I went to Dr. Jesse Lopez seminar. But they would not even touch Medicaire people, so I formed my own opinion that he is a rich persons doctor. I found the best doctor ever in Sedalia, Dr. Hornbostel who was my surgeon and I will recommend him to everyone I can. Colette

I have heard of at least 3 bariatric surgeon's in the KC area that are with hospitals. Dr. Lopez's name has never come up. He may have his own clinic for surgery. I personally felt much more comfortable knowing I was in a hospital where I had access to ICU and emergency staff and equipment to handle anything. I have heard of Dr. Harlan Opie in Olathe, KS Olathe Medical Center (very wonderful follow up program even a gym membership) Dr Hoehn in Shawnee Mission , KS Shawnee Mission Medical Center (my surgeon of choice. Fantastic staff great experience) There was Dr Ali in KC, MO but he is gone and there is a new surgeon there I do not know his name Dr Juranie I think. KC, MO truman Medical Center All three of these men have hospitals they operate in. Check Dr Lopez out to see if he does.
