I hate to ask this......

I am considering the lap band surgery...very scared...of surgery etc in general, but I am researching ALOT and have posted questions on the lapband board...I decided to read MANY of the memorials tonight..very sad...I notices many deaths were unrelated to surgery but the ones that were...were from the bypass surgery....has anyone heard of anyone dying from the lapband surgery...i mean the risk are so much less arent they!!~Chantay

Hi! I began this journey almost three years ago with all of the research and had my surgery,Lap band 18 months ago. I have only heard of one person that actually passed away because of an incompetant surgeon. Just make sure you have researched your surgeon and that he has experience. There are always risk to any surgery, but in my case I was more at risk being 368 pounds than having the surgery. Best wishes! Let me know if I can be of any help.
