Hey, I am going to have to have my spleen removed, the doctor who did my RNY does surgery at St. Johns Mercy in Washington Missouri. His office informed me that they would prefer me to have the surgery done there. Since it is quite a drive I was looking for a hotel to spend the night at prior to surgery and also a place where my wife can go to get some rest. I am looking for 2 things, a nice place to stay that is not to pricey and also a restaurant to be able to have a nice dinner the night before. If anyone is familiar with this area or better yet lives in that area I would appreciate some suggestions. Thanks So Much Dan

Dan, If I am not mistaken, Dr Richardson also does surgery at DePaul Hospital in Bridgeton, he assisted my surgeon with my RNY. You might want to check if he does them there, if so, there are alot more choices on hotels to stay there along with some restuarants close by and a great caferteria if she choses to eat at the hospital. I had my surgery at Depaul and last week my dad just went through emergency open heart surgery at Depaul and the staff there is just excellant. If you do decide to go with St John's in Washington, I believe that there is a Super 8 there and a few little restuarants. Its a pretty small town about 45 minutes to an hour from downtown St Louis so there isn't awhole there. Hope this helps some. Theresa

There a brand new hotel its called he sleep inn, there is also a super 8 and a Lewis& clark Inn they are all pretty close to the hosptial. The super 8 8s the cheapest its like 58 a night and there is a apple bees across the road . That is very good There is all kinds of fast food places there and other places around there inthe shopping mall strips. Dr Richardson is really a good dr so you will be in good hands. the sleep inn is a brand new hotel its only been open maybe a year. goodluck to you Tammy
