Dr. Scott's patiient's
Marie,
My experience with Dr. Scott's office was excellent. I sent in my application last year right after the Memorial Day weekend, and I had my surgery on 7/26/05. They took care of everything as quickly as they could.
My insurance company sent me a copy of the approval letter, but it wasn't at Dr. Scott's office when I went for my pre-op clinic appt. Luckily, I had my copy with me; they copied it, and my plans moved forward very quickly.
I know that Dr. Scott and his partner Dr. De La Torre are excellent surgeons with a well-respect national reputation. They are very busy. Sometimes we have to be very proactive and make sure our medical teams are able to keep up with everything for us. For each of us, we are obviously the most important patient they have. For them, we are one of many, many people seeking this life saving surgery.
You can reach staff in Dr. Scott's office via e-mail. I found that easier than the phone, because they do read their e-mail regularly; but they are busy and not always near the phone.
I wish you the best of luck with your surgery and hope you have a speedy recovery.
Linda
P.S. I haven't updated my profile in a while, but I am down 105 lbs., off BP med, off CPAP machine and have gone from a 26W to an 18 in the misses department.
I too have had nothing but good service from this group. I had my surgery at DePaul but, do my follow-up in Columbia...and like Linda I find that emailing Natalie easier than calling on the phone. They are with patients a lot and have to return calls later...and they do get back to me rather quickly with concerns or questions.
-Craig, I'm sorry you had a bad experience with them...I think I'd talk to someone about the girl that spoke to you on the phone. You don't deserve to be treated with anything less than common courtesy and respect.
