Anyone have UHC near KC and have gastric bypass (question)

Just found out today that my insurance says they cover the surgery but not at Bothwell in Sedalia. So I need to research other doctors near KC. Thanks for any help.

Click under surgeon in Missouri and search for who had UHC.. I had UHC when I had my surgery and they are very good. They are wls friendly. You can search docs names and see who has accepted UHC. I think most hospital accept and like UHC. I lived in West Plains, Missouri when i had my surgery and Bothwell could not get approval but Doc Lambert in Batesville , Arkansas got me approved and White River Medical Center is awesome. I have heard of a Doc Ali in Kansas City. Be very careful and research the docs and hospital you choose. Some are very very good and some are not very good. You deserve the best hospital and surgeon even if you have to wait or travel a little farther. This is a lifelong relationship with the doc and the hospital, so be sure you get a good one. Doc Lambert says we are his patients for life and he means it. I see him once or twice a year and if I have to have additonal surgery that is not a dire emergency he will do my surgery as I trust him and he knows me. When you go in for surgery you are putting your life in the surgeon and the hospitals hands. Be sure you know who you can trust with your life.

Thanks, that why I was going to use Dr. H. I felt comfortable knowing the three people that I know that used him, have had no problems at all. But unfortunately my insurance is not accepted as his hospital. So I continue to research. Thanks, again.

I have UHC and I live in Peculiar. I am having surgery on Monday the 20th with Dr. Hoehn at Shawnee Mission Medical Center. It is on the Kansas side but still in the KC area. He has done over 400 procedures and has never had anyone die and has had very few leaks or complications from what I understand. They have been great to me so far. Dr. Ali is no longer in the KC area. He left over a year ago. I do believe that Truman Medical Center may have a new surgeon there but I do not know anything about him or her. Hope this helps.

I don't know about the insurance, but there is a Dr. Udobi an KU Med Center. He is who I am going to use. Just another name for you to check. Good luck !
