Good morning Missouri
i have a son in the Republic area , all they got was hail and high winds, no tornado. My sister lives in Clever. They had one touch down about 100 feet from their house , tore up their big work shed , barn type building but house seems to be ok so far. distroyed 30 homes in Clever and 35 in Nixa. Hope none of your relatives or friends were one of them. They said there was 56 tornados last night in Missouri and 154 sever storms. There have been 9 deaths in Missouri reported so far. My sister said of the 30 houses in Clever that no one knows where the people that lived in them were but none were found in or around their homes. This one followed the same path that the one in 2003 did. weird.
Hey everyone....just a quick note to say my family's safe but, it was not a great night last night. We did get some minor damage and, was without power for several hours. Friends of ours lost their houses...but at least they are safe and sound. Didn't make group tonight in Spfld... was up all night and had to work today...so I was not up for the drive.
Take care,
Kelli
Rachael,
Thanks for posting your check on everyone. I'm so grateful that everyone is okay.
Kelli, I missed you tonight at our meeting. I was going to drop you an e-mail to check on you to make sure you were okay. I'm sorry it was such a rough night. The important thing is that you and your family are safe.
Tami, thanks for your e-mail letting me know you wouldn't be there and were okay. I appreciate it.
To anyone else that needs our support or anything, please post to let us know.
As many of you know, I'm originally from Springfield and moved to California for many years and moved back to this area. A couple of years ago there were fires in San Diego that practically burned down the entire city. My family had to be evacuated (along with the majority of San Diego) from our home. We packed up everything that mattered to us - photographs, family keepsakes, and my clothes (hey, a post-op has her priorities!). Seriously, as we drove away from our home, I realized that everything that mattered was in our cars - my husband, my two boys, along with our family photos and keepsakes. It really was a blessing to have that experience. It put things front and center for me as to what is important in life - not things but people in our lives of family and friends.
As I was in the basement with my scared sons (first tornado scare for them - welcome to Missouri!) last night, I reflected back on that experience. Stuff can be replaced but the people in our lives can't.
I'm glad that everyone and their families are okay. My thoughts are with everyone.
