Dr. Hornbostel's patients (Question)
If you had insurance through your employer, how long did you have to wait to receive your packet from Dena after sending in your initial information (insurance card, why you need surgery, etc.)?
Thanks for any help. I sent mine in last Monday by fax (with my new insurance info.). So just wondering if I should call or just wait a little longer.
Be careful I saw Doc Hornbostel and had an appointment went to a support group meeting then never heard from him again. I had surgery with another Doc. I guess his office could not get insurance approval for me but the other doc did. I dont trust that hospital up there that Doc Hornbostel uses. I dont think they are very good so i am glad I had surgery elsewhere. I dont mean to discourage you but do your research on your doc and the hospital he works out of to be sure everything goes ok. You do not have to have surgery with the first doc you find. I didnt.
I had surgery with Dr. Hornbustel and I have nothing but good things to say about him, the staff or the hospital. You can call Dena and she will be happy to help you. Every doc's office has alot of patients to deal with but I kept calling and calling, that made Dena get right on mine. It is partly your responsibility to get things going. You have every right to call Dr. H office and your insurance for that matter. You have to remember that Dr. H does about 3 or 4 surgeries a week. Dena handles ALL of the insurance stuff so she has alot to deal with. If you call her she will probably put your stuff at the top. I just kept buggin her and she said that that made her hurry up on my stuff. You can call your insurance company and ask them if they recieved your packet, they work for you! For me it took about a week to get the packet from Dena because she has to find out if you have the benefit from your insurance. Now, you can call your insurance and ask them yourself it you have the benefit and then you could call Dena and tell her what you know. If you want things to move quickly don't wait around take matters into your own hands. Hang in there it will work out for you. When did you come to the meeting? I was probably there. Have a great day and God bless, Penni
I have heard good things about Dr. Hornbostel and his Program. Have you checked the feedback he has received from his patients on his ObesityHelp site?
He is a member of the American Society of Bariatric Surgery and is a FACS.
Your best source of information is from his patients and you've already received some positive feedback from your post.
As far as calling or wait.............I agree with Wayne - perservere and be persistent!
Please keep us posted and let us know how it is going for you. Congratulations for being in the process - you're on your way!!
