Citracal Creamy Bites
Has anyone else tried these? I saw them at Walmart last night, purchased a box and had one, didn't taste too bad.
1 piece is 500mg of calcium and 200iu of Vitamin D, 4 g sugar.
Didn't make me dump.
There are 30 to the box but I can't remember how much it was.
Another alternative to getting in the calcium.
Just curious to see if anyone else has tried these and if so, how they worked for you.
Janet,
I haven't seen them, however, you need to check to make sure it is calcium citrate. For RNY post-ops, calcium isn't just calcium! Calcium carbonate isn't bariatric-friendly and absorbed by RNYers. I loved Viactiv but they were basically a treat because they didn't contain calcium citrate. As a RNY post-op, it is imperative that you take calcium citrate. Of course, you should always check with your surgeon/physician for what he/she has instructed you to take for calcium supplements. Make sure to follow your physician's supplementation recommendations.
I take a bariatric formula of chewable calcium citrate for maximum absorption.
I hope this info helps!

janet, Natalee from Dr scotts office recomended a site to me. i bought some & they taste good. its bbvitamins.com. they have a combo package of the multi vit, the calcium, and the iron we need. all in one. it cost $44.00 for all 3. which didn't seem to high. if you add up all the walmart cost it comes to about the same.the calcium & the vitamin are chewable. they also have where they will mail it to you each month so you don't run out. i actually like taking my vitamins now lol.
