Never thought of it like that
The Best Prayer I Have Heard In A Long
Time............
Heavenly Father, Help us remember
that the jerk who cut us off in traffic
last night is a single mother who
worked nine hours that day and
is rushing home to cook dinner,
help with homework,
do the laundry and spend a
few precious moments
with her children.
Help us to remember that the
pierced, tattooed, disinterested
young man who can't make
change correctly is a worried
19-year-old college student,
balancing his apprehension
over final exams with his
fear of not getting his
student loans for next semester.
Remind us, Lord,
that the scary looking bum,
begging for money in the same
spot every day (*****ally ought
to get a job!) is a slave to addictions
that we can only imagine in our
worst nightmares.
Help us to remember that the
old couple walking annoyingly
slow through the store aisles
and blocking our shopping
progress are savoring this
moment, knowing that,
based on the biopsy report
she got back last week, this
will be the last year that they
go shopping together.
Heavenly Father,
remind us each day that,
of all the gifts you give us,
the greatest gift is love.
It is not enough to share
that love with those
we hold dear.
Open our hearts not to
just those who are
close to us,
but to all humanity.
Let us be slow to judge
and quick to forgive,
show patience,
empathy and
love.
God Bless You All

I agree with you. You just never know when you stop to help someone. If that person is a angel. Or how by the way you treat that person. How it will change there life and the lives they touch. Everytime I see someone broke down or on the cornor with the Hungry sign. The song What if he's an angel come to mind. Really makes you stop and think. I dont ever want to time to come when I stand before the Lord. And he say to me "Melissa remember that time when you could of shared my word or help that individule who was hungry but didnt?? He was one of my angels that I sent to see if you would show him the same love that I have shown you." OUCH!!!
I hope I am never that tied up in my own wants and needs to be that way.
I am sure you know what I mean.
God Bless
Melissa
That was so sweet and sad. We dont often thing to put ourselves in other peoples shoes. When I see another morbidly obese person I just want to walk up to them and tell them to have surgery, but I know that is inappropriate. I thing I need to but a bumper sticker and a shirt that is in obesity helps store tells people about surgery. I have opened some conversations and turned some people onto surgery, but some people take offense. At least those of us post ops understand what it is like to be mo and we are sensitive. It is so funny how people in general treat you based on your looks and weight. When you are obese you just get treated so badly and you go back to the same place after surgery and you are treated very differently.
