Wayne, I'm sorry to hear about your difficulties with advancing your foods. I promise, it will get better. Truly, it will pass and this is only temporary. I'm glad that you just saw the doctor so you know there isn't a problem. Eating again after surgery is like a baby eating and introducing and advancing its diet. Somedays things will go down easily without any problem and the next day the same food may cause upset. In just a few months this will be just a distant memory. Congratulations on your 51 pound weight loss. That is awesome. I look forward to seeing you tonight at the meeting (or at least 51 pounds less of you than before!). Take care, Cathy

Sorry you are having trouble but it is pretty common. My doc said your pouch is a little baby everything you eat now is new to it. I took one small bite of a new food to see how it sat with me. Then I tried a second. If they sat well I continued eating. If something did not sit well on the first bite I stopped. Also try only 1 new food at a time. If you try more than 1 new food you wont know what you did not tolerate. If you can keep cottage cheese down it usually is very easy on an early pouch. Most people can tolerate yogurt pretty good too. Just be sure and stay away from anything with sugar. You probably had a lot of intestines bypassed as your bmi maybe was a little high. You will have a little more problems than lightweights like me. I weighed 308 at surgery so my doc did not bypass too much on me. I asked the doc because so many of my friends who had wls were having so many problems and I was not, but their Bmis were a lot higher than mine, and the doc bypassed more intestines on them than on me. It does get better over time. So glad you are losing so well. Soon you will be a featherweight instead of a heavyweight. Hope you feel well enough to go the meeting tonight my wife and I are going.

Hey Wayne! I can relate to the food making u .. I am 2 weeks and 2 days shy of my 3 months post op(down over 80lbs unoffically). I feel great, but there are many days, I don't want to eat, and food just doesn't seem to settle, and makes my poor pouch feel yuckie. I just take it one day at a time, making sure by the grace of God I get my required Nutrition in. Not everyone is the same and it is trial and error as to what we tolerate. This is just normal for some of us...but who says I am normal. I will keep you in my prayers and things will get better it is just going to take us awhile. Many congrats on the 51lbs God Bless!! Wayne, Sorry I have not been on much, just working a lot of hours these past 2 weeks. I can relate to your food problems - just take small bites and chew and chew. You are almost caught up to me in weight loss so you are doing great. I am 3 months post op today. I had taco salad for lunch today and tolerated it well. Took me a lon time to eat it though. Take care, Colette. ( Hey my picture is finally on)
