NEW DATE FOR MEXICO.....
Update to all:
due to more scheduling problems with my friends, we are once again changing the date of my surgery in Puerto Vallarta Mexico. Now, it's SOONER! I am schduled for my lap RNY on March 14! We changed our tickets (for a small fortune) and are all ready to go. Unfortunately, this means I have 3 less weeks to make enough money to finish paying for it. Please keep me in your prayers. I am a nurse and I work 12 hour shifts, I live an hour from my job, so my twelve hour shifts end up being about 15 hours with commute time. I've had to sign up to work every day to come up with the extra money in such a short period of time and with 4 kids (including a two year old), it's really tough. Please keep me in your prayers. I am beginning to get a little nervous and I will be starting my preop liquid, high protein diet in two weeks.....driving it home just how real this all is. It's hard for me to be on the board much when I am working so many hours and I could really use the support right now. Please pray for my friends, I worry that if I get too whiney, they may push me off a balcony or something....hee hee!

PS-due to picking up all these extra shifts, I will miss the support group this month. Please keep me in your prayers. I may try to get hooked up with an angel before I go. Maybe my friends could call and keep someone posted. I know that there are several people that have expressed some interest in South of the Border surgery due to financial problems obtaining surgery and I'd love to be there for them to give them play by play on my experience.
Good luck glad your date is sooner. Soon you will be a big loser. Dont run yourself down too much and get lots of protien two weeks before surgery as all that protien helps you heal afterward. I did not think the pain was too bad myself. I only had one pain shot and turned down all others I was offered. I did not even get the pain perscription the doc gave me when I went home filled. I just used liquied kiddie tylenol. At least you will have nice weather we may be up to our hineys in snow here.
Victoria,
Yipee!! March 14!!! I am so excited for you.
I know the surgery date being moved up is exciting yet also a struggle financially. My surgery date was moved up when I had it done and I was happy, excited, scared, etc., etc. I had a range of emotions that were like a roller coaster. In the end, it all came together and I know it will for you too. Congratulations!
Don't worry about whining here with us. We understand and have all been there too. We're all sitting right behind you in the carts of the roller coaster enjoying the ride with you.
