Hi all, It's 2 am, so I guess I can officially say I'm having surgery day after tomorrow. I'm nervous. I just read an article on Deep Vein Thrombosis and Pulmonary embolism. I'm a little freaked. I live such a sedentary lifestyle. Sit hours a day while I write. NO exercise and rarely leave the house. I have a bulgey vein in my left inner thigh. Tell me something! I'm freaking. Really I have four kids. Tracey

You will be fine, if you let the stories and articles get to you, then you take a chance on stressing yourself out causing further problems. The thing to remember is... after surgery get out of bed as soon as possible and walk the halls, dont have to be much, just enough to keep the legs moving. I weighed in at about 390 and I am 5'4" when I had surgery and my lifestyle was beyond sedentary, if that is possible. I would barely get off the couch to go to the bathroom, lol. My 3 and 4 year olds did most of my busy work throughout the day, cleaning what they could, getting things for me, etc. I am not proud of that, but it is the truth and I am still so ashamed of the way I USED to be, but so PROUD of the way I am now. Please dont let the bad stories get you down, just walk the halls of the hospital as often as possible and you will be fine. I was up and walking within 2 hours of getting out of recovery. Good luck to you and my thoughts will be with you on your big day. Darlene 411/289/180 -122 lbs

Tracey... DEEP CLEANSING BREATH girlie girl... you are going to be fine. Most surgeons that I know of will put special hose on you during surgery and use the passive inflating thingies (don't know what they call them) that fit over your legs and massage them while you are in bed. PLUS get up and move chicquita after surgery. You are going to feel SO much better ... FOCUS FOCUS FOCUS... just think about it! The adventure is about to begin.. you are going to be doing things that you only dreamed about before... think Spring. Getting out with your kids. Going for walks, getting out in the sunshine... ahhhhhhhhh it is just around the corner babes... Elizabeth~

Hey Tracey, I want you to know that your feelings are very normal. I was so scared that I almost backed out but I knew that God wanted me to have this surgery and He opened a way for me to have it. I would recommend that you don't read all of the horror stories because they won't do you any good but give you doubts and fears. As you loose weight you will be able to do more things and believe me at the hospital you will be walking. I am sure that your surgeon knows about your bulging vein in your thigh and if he says it is o.k. to have surgery---you will be fine. You will have so much life when you start loosing the weight you will not even remember these feelings you are having. Stay positive and know that you have support in us. God bless and think good thoughts. Penni

Evertone has feelings of being nervous and scared before surgery. If you were perfectly relaxed I would say something is wrong with you. For every horror stories there are 100 stories that end with no drama at all. Listen to what Elizabeth said and take a deep breath, things will be fine. Wayne

Take deep breaths. You have a good doctor and faith in the Lord. Everyone is apprehensive about this surgery or any surgery. You will be fine. Everyone will be praying for you. You can't go wrong. Connie
