Is today Monday?

You know, when your on disability everyday seems like every other day. That is one of the things I miss most about working. Even though I hated Mondays I miss them. Does this make sense? And don't even get me started on Fridays. Friday used to be such a great day. The last day of a long work week, payday and an excuse to go out all rolled into one day. Now it's just like Monday. And you might as well call Saturday and Sunday, Wednesday and Thursday because with the exception of church on Sunday there is NO differance. Now don't get me wrong, I am grateful to live in a country where our goverment provides a program for people who can't work so we don't starve BUT I CAN'T WAIT TO GET BACK TO WORK!!!!!!!!! Just thought I would get this off of my chest. I now return you to your regularly schedualed day of the week. Wayne

Good morning Wayne, I understand your statement about everyday being the same. That is exactly why I still work part time at my age. It sorta gets you out in the real world and very thankful when you can come home. My husband I think is missing the connection too, as he is not able to work anymore. Fridays were always great, but not always in the health field like me as we work a lot of weekends. So now when I get home early or I am off and it is a sunny day, we get in the car and drive somewhere even if it is just to town and the grocery store. I hope you are feeling better and each week you will continue to feel fantastic. Keep up the good work. Colette My profile is spruced up but I am working at having some space to put pictures on it. Did you put your own pictures on? I emailed some into the Obesity site.

Collette, I love your profile. I think that's my favorite one I've seen so far! Did you try to email me awhile back? I wrote back, but the email bounced back to me. Sorry! Wayne, I feel the same way because even though I work, I work from home. So the days roll together. Especially when I'm crunching deadline like now and don't go to church, My husband does all the shopping and carting kids around etc. It's an isolated world for sure! Looking forward to getting the Lebanon WLS support group going! Peace out all! Have a wonderful day THREE MORE DAYS!!!! Tracey Bateman

Disabilities and age suck. We should all be allowed to be healthy and young forever LOL. her is a post from the main message board that will help with setting up your own oictures on your profile. This is how I do it, but you can use any photo server of your choice....so here goes, hope it helps some people out, the OH-photo team gets overloaded, so the more of us who can post our own, the better. I use photobucket.com to add my pics to my profile. It's free and easy. Just get your username and password set then start adding pics to the site. After they're uploaded, you'll see 3 different text lines under each pic (Be sure that your account is set up to show all 3 codes, go into account options and click yes on all 3). (I also find it easier to resize your photos to the size you'd like BEFORE you upload them to photobucket...this way you know exactly the size they will appear on your profile, ahead of time. I use PaintShop Pro 9, it has some really cool features...you can download a free trial version of this at jasc.com...or you can use something like irfanview, which you can get for free at irfanview.com) To post a picture in your photo section of your profile, paste the URL that photobucket gives you into the photo boxes in your profile. To post a pic in the body of your profile, paste the TAG line into your text box of your profile (where you put your updates) NEW If you want to put pictures side by side, and they are small enough to do so, just paste in the TAG line from the first, then put in 1-2 spaces, then paste in the TAG line for the second. (best is if you have them centered also, do this by putting in the HTML code < center > before the pictures (without the spaces) and the HTML code < / center > (without the spaces) after the pictures. The message board photos though, need to be added by the OH photo team, you can send it to them, along with your user name, user ID# and e-mail addy to [email protected] Wayne

Wayne I 100% agree with you. I told my DH that as soon as I have my surgery. I am enrolling in classes. I cant wait until I get to go back to work. I have been working since I was 14 yrs old. And it has killed me the last 2 yrs to be home all the time. I cant wait until I get to come home from work dog tired and say "Man what I wouldnt give to be able to stay home for once" LMAO Melissa

Hey Wayne, Keep your chin up (you know like the song from Charlotte's Web?). Soon you will be able to go, go, go! They won't be able to stop you. I know things might seem bleek now but hang in there. Colette said it right-- if you can't acually go somewhere maybe you could go out for a drive. Just getting out of the house will do you a world of good. Stay positive! Have a great day and God bless, Penni

Oh I get out plenty but it's not the same as when I worked. When you work the days of the week have meaning , Monday = back to the grind, Weds = hump day, Fri = payday and the weekends are days off. When your on disability the days of the week mean nothing. Thanks for caring though. Wayne

You may get back to work as you lose more weight. I have been on ssd for over 5 years and I went back to work part time last April. I worked selling ticket and taking phone reservations for Yakovs theatre in Branson.. I cant work full time as I get too tired. I never thought I would work again but losing the weight helped my weak heart more than I ever dreamed. I am on lay off now and enjoying it but I look forward to going back to work and dealing with the public. Its nice to get out of the house and interact with people. Hope to see you at the next meeting in Springfield next month.
