Introduction and ???'s

Hi my name is Anita I am 30 years old with 3 boys ages 11, 6, and 2!! I had surgery on the 9th of November 2005. I currently live in southern Illinois but DH and I are moving due to jobs to Ozark on the 1st of February!!! I am interested in meeting people who have had WLS and also the spouses so DH has someone to talk to as well. I also would like to know of any support group meetings that are in the Springfield area. Any information would be very helpful and I hope to meet some of you soon Take care, Anita

I know they have meetings in Springfield @ St John's I believe. But I am not for sure what days they are. But there are several on here that will cause they go to them. Hey girl, haven't talked to you in a while. when do you hear about your date? have you heard from insurance yet? Wayne

Wayne I go to Springfield on the 28 for my required class. I went to my Dr. Appt ont he 18th and have lost approx 45 lbs. So the Dr said he was going to submitt my paperwork for approval. And he started my on a liquid diet until my approval. The class on the 19th I didnt have to have until I am approved. But Dr. S said once I or he hears from the insurance company. Then he can have me scheduled for surgery in 2 weeks!!!! So I am biting my nails (do you think that will mess with my liquid diet)?? lol waiting to hear and just plain waiting!!! Good to hear from you also. Hubby and I were talking about coming to the support meeting in Springfield so we can meet everyone. Melissa

This is so awesome. You deserve this chance at a new life. All the hoops have been jumped through and now its just waiting, which sometimes is the hardest thing. Hello Anita welcome to the board. We have a VERY good support group meeting the second Monday of each month at the St Johns Surgery Center in Springfield. I believe the address is 1229 E. Seminole classroom 4B. The group meets from 5:30 till 7:00 and spouses are welcome to attend. If you attend please find me and introduce yourself. It is always good to meet people from the board. We also have a meeting on the fourth Monday of the month for post op of 1 year or more. This meeting is only for post ops right now. You can read some earlier post about this issue. Both meetings are very good. The group is part of St Johns hospital but they welcome anyone who wants to come. My wife and I go and we had our surgeries in BatesvileArkansas but we live in Branson now so we go to Springfield.
