DESPERATE!!! (I'M NEW HERE.)
Does anyone know if their is a Mo. Doctor who will accept IL. MEDICAID. I live 70 miles east of St. Louis and was hoping that St. Louis had a surgeon. I am 150pds overweight, I have sleep apnea, fibromyalgia, mild asthma, back pain, depression. I have been on numerous diets since I was 12. I am 35 and totally miserable. I could do so much more for my family and I'm praying for this surgery to happen. Thank you for your support in advance.
There are probably some docs who do accept medicaid. Look on this site under surgeons and you can find out who accepts what insurance. Pickings probably will be slim as medicaid does not pay well and if you have Illinois medicaid you may have to use an Illinois doc and hospital. If you have missouri medicaid there probably is someone around St Louis who accepts medicaid. I live in Missouri but had my surgery in Arkansas. Do all the can to find a doc who will accept medicaid I am sure you will find someone, but probably not a lot of choices.

Welcome to the Missouri Board!... I would click on the link of surgeons that is on this site and just go down the list. I wouldn't look at the types of insurance they accept as that can change at a moments notice and you don't know how often they update their information on this site. If it were me I would be placing a phone call to each and every one of their offices... It helps to talk straight to the "insurance person" in that office. That way you don't end up telling your story to every in the office only to be handed off to yet another person!
Wishing you nothing but the best my dear! Keep us posted!

Well, I know if you have medicaid in Missouri, you are completely covered for surgery,... it and medicare both pay for surgery. I am going to a doc in Omaha NE, and he takes Missouri medicaid and medicare,.. I am not going to have to pay any out of pocket expensies. I know Dr. Hornbostel here in Sedalia will take medicaid from Missouri but not sure about IL. I am having a different kind of surgery other then RNY,.. it's called the DS. I was so glad to find my Dr. Anthone,...he is one of the best in his field. I wish you all the best on your new journey,.. and I hope you find someone to take care of you before they change more of the medical laws.
God Bless
