First time here
Hello Jan,
First of all welcome! We are always happy to see someone in need join us. Reading your story I think all of us can relate to you. I remember sleeping in my chair and not being able to do anything also because of my weight. I am excided to see that you are trying to do something permanent (acually a tool) to allow your body to restore its health. It is about time you do something for yourself. Good luck and God bless you with good results from your paper work. Don't give up and keep fighting for what you want even if the insurance company rejects you. Have a great day and remember that we are here for you, that is what is so good about this site we understand just where you are now and we want to help in anyway posible. A big hug and God bless, Penni
Gosh I am so tickeled about so many people answering my post. I really feel like someone cares about me ...after lots of times of being overlooked ...hard to understand when you are so big how people can overlook you or act if your not there but it happens all the time. And of course I cant do anything that all my friends do. Most of my (friends) are a lot younger than I am and I kept up with them more or less untill about 5 years ago when my weight really started piling on.anyway thanks guys I really appreciate it. Jan
I'll take a stab at this one, Jan. First, losing weight shows committment. It also shows that you can adapt to an eating program. You'll need it when recovering (or so they say, I am still pre-op). In my case, I am on the edge of a 60bmi and they need below 60 to do the surgery laproscopically....I need to lose to bring the bmi down. Next, when you have excess fat, it gathers around your liver. As you are losing weight, one of the first places the fat clears from is around your liver. Even a few pounds loss is a boost for your liver. This is a healthier state. Losing weight is a state within your body which can boost energy, reduce buildup around organs and make skin looser. All these things are positive for before surgery......my two cents - I could be wrong.
Good Luck in your journey and welcome to the board
