Surgery is nearing...
Well, My surgery is in 10 days...
I am having huge mixed emotions as if I was pregnant or something... I will be happy one minute, then I would slide into crying mode, then I feel like my world is coming down... Lord, what a rollercoaster!
Reason why I think I am so nervous is because I hve never had surgery before. This is my first one and this is a big one!... [argh]
I am a 21/f in North Kansas City preparing for the Lap RNY.
Anythoughts or stories on how your surgery went would help my mind at ease!...
How did you feel after surgery?
How long did it take you to recover?
When were you able to start working out?
How did your body go back together? (excess skin? much or little?)
I guess everyone is asking these questions...
I want this surgery, and the fears will not keep me from getting it... I need it. I want to be more healthy and I want to feel and look good!... I am tired of taking my meds, being ill, and tired of my body aching like it does.
Any support/thoughts will be appreciated!
love,
Christina
Hi Christina,
Sorry no advice on after surgery things as I am still pre-op. I just wanted to congradulate you on your up and coming date. I will keep you in my thoughts and say a prayer for you.
I can totally relate to your fears because of this being your first surgery. I too, am going into this as a first surgery for me. I've only been in the hospital for child birth (3 x's for this), so this is definitely one of my biggest fears, mostly not knowing what to expect and all. But I know this is something that will improve my quality of life, so that helps calm me down a bit and that helps me realize that this surgery even though it's a major one is definitely worth it.
Best of luck to you and just think, you'll be on the losing side soon! WOOOO HOOOO!

Christina,
Well, it is a big decision but just keep thinking positive. God will guide you if you allow him to. You are young and have the rest of your life to take care of your body. I had the LapRNY done in Nov. and was in the hospital 2 days. No complications at all. I have lost 49 pounds already, and feel great. Just be sure to do what your doctor tells you to do and follow it to a T. I was nervous too, and I have had surgeries before this 2 times. As far as working out my doctor wants us to walk 30 minutes each day. As far as loose skin, I dont know the solutions to that. You are young so maybe it wont be a big problem for you, but then it depends on how much you have to lose. Hope this helps. Colette
