You guys came through and posted! Yippity yah... I just KNEW that you could do it! This is the way that it should be... don't be shy, don't think that you don't have something to contribute. Don't think that you have to KNOW all the answers if someone is asking a question either. Sometimes even if you DON'T have a clue ..just the thought that you took the time to respond to someone might make their day. Remember the old adage... " a load shared is a load lightened"... Wednesday through Saturday you will see me get online very very late (if at all) since on those days I work two jobs. In fact I just NOW got home and it is almost midnight! Makes for a very very long day but I'm managing. So don't drop the ball on those days folks... I can start someone out in the morning but I am not going to be online through the day or even in the early evening due to my work. Take that ball and run! On another note I finally found something that might work out for me regarding my protein and the fact that I am not getting in enough. Since I work two jobs and having breaks to eat during those jobs are just not happening I am finding myself going for long long periods with NOTHING in me. I think that fact that I am ingesting far too few calories is messing with my continued weight loss (and the fact that I am so incredibly close to goal) On the way home tonight I stopped at good old Wallyworld and bought some of the Southbeach dinners. They had to price match a sale at a competitors so they were 2/5.00 OHMYGOSH they are good. I had the Chicken Caprese tonight and it had 35 grams of protein in it!.. Even DH who at the Kung Pao Chicken (30 grams of protein) said that they didn't taste like diet dinners. GOOD GOOD GOOD.. and I gots my proteins in today! Yippity yah.... Have a good night/morning (eek is it 12:03 am.) ... Elizabeth~

Hi Eliz, I'm up late tonight also. I went to Dr. Hornbostel's seminar tonight and I am still processing everything in my head at this point. I'm sooooo happy that I finally had a chance to attend his seminar as you can not get a surgeon's consult with him, without attending a seminar first. DH and I were very late but I'm still soooo happy we went (I map quest from this site thinking it was where the seminar would be held. I get to Sedalia from Lexington, Mo about a 1hr and 45min drive. Only to find out I had the address to the surgical center, not the church where the seminar was held. Hence we had to make several phone calls, thank goodness for cell phones and the guy at the first Christian Church in Sedalia just of off 32nd street. He gave excellent directions for us to get to the seminar, he was a very nice man! He was even nice enough to call around and find out where the seminar was being held tonight, bless his heart!). I really enjoyed what I could catch of the seminar and loved dr. H's confidents and honesty. DH and I think that he will be a great choice for a surgeon. Anywho, thanks for sharing with us how the SB diet dinners tasted. I just might have to give them a try. Hope you are able to get some rest before sun up...nitey nite! Cassandra

Hi Elizabeth, I don't know where Myrick road is, I don't travel around Lex much. I know you're thinking but Lex isn't that large *L* but it's true, I've been here for almost 1 whole yr and have yet to see the whole town. Thanks for the well wishes they are much appreciated! Cassandra

Hi there. Just wanted to let you know that Dr. H and his staff are all great! I had surgery just over a month ago... just when I think I'm going to drive them crazy w/a phone call or another "drop by", they make me feel like it's okay... So... If you ever want to chat or vent or just whatever, feel free to contact me. I was at the seminar last night too... but in the other room. Anyone , I have reading materials if you'd like to read something... "Weight Loss Kit for Dummies" "Weight Loss Surgery for Dummies" "Gut Feelings", Carnie Wilson "I'm still Hungry", Carnie Wilson "The Patient's Guide to Weight Loss Surgery" "Weight Loss Surgery, Finding the Thin Person Hiding Inside You!", Barbara Thompson "Gastric Bypass Surgery", Mary P. and Jo McGowan Chopra I will mail them to you, I just ask that they get mailed back to me. Good luck to everyone out there! Blessings~Stacey

Hi Stacey, First congrats on making it to the losing side. Can't wait till it's my turn! I've been hoping to chat with a couple of people about Dr. H. I read a lot of the reviews here on this site about him. I was/am really impressed with the way everyone spoke of him and especially his aftercare program. So your words are greatly appreciated. Even though I was very late, I am happy that I finally got to see Dr. H in person. I was very impressed with his confidence, directness, him being so open and honest. Just what I'm looking for in a surgeon. I'd been to 2 other seminars and had actually filled out the paper work to return to one of the surgeons. I also had another bariatric program call me which I strongly considered using. I'm glad that I waited for Dr. H's seminar instead. Your book list is pretty extensive! I just went to the Library today and picked up "Weight Loss Surgery for Dummies". I couldn't find any other books on WLS. After I get this one read, I'll have to see about contacting you for some of the others on your list. Thanks for wishing us luck. I'll keep you in mind when I need someone to bug with all of my questions about Dr. H and his program. Cassandra

Penni... Since you are so newly out from your surgery make sure that you get clearance to eat something like the SB foods from your dietician. I'm 15 months out and there is a big big difference. The dinner that I had tonight (SB of course) was the Chicken Penne in roasted pepper sauce. It also had broccoli in it.. I don't know how that would set on your newly postop tummy... I don't want to stress it out... so please check with your dr. first! *s*... Another form of protein that I use (actually two that I use) is the Profect liquid that you see advertised on this site and UNJURY (advertised here as well) they are BOTH excellent forms of protein and very very easy on a new tummy!
