Sure would like to hear what every one is up to these days. I know I go for days, weeks, etc at a time without posting ...but with the holidazeeeeeeeeee; just no time to sit and write.... O. K. so I put my thinking cap on today...and with the New Year thought I would try to encourage anyone ...*****ally needs it...by telling you...you can also read it in my profile ...how this surgery saved and changed my life. o.k. so 19 months ago...I was a preschool teacher and literally had to go home every afternoon and nap for 2 to 3 hours before I could manage my evening activities after working all day...today I'm a nite owl ..and if I could would be active every minute of the day... 19 months ago...I was depressed and wondered if my blood pressure would every get under control...today not taking any medicine for that... 19 months ago..climbing a set of steps was impossible or at least it would literally take my breath away...today I live iin a second floor apartment; walk without too much pain, and at work climb the 3 flights of steps to my office at least twice a day. 19 months ago I weighed 414 pounds ...today i'm at 279 and still losing... 19 months ago I was wearing 5X and 6 X clothes...today I'm wearing 26/28 tops and 28 bottoms 19 months smiling was hard to do...today I am so thankful for my renewed life....I smile almost all the time....even on rainy days and Mondays. And the greatest thing is every time I see distant relatives that do not see me very often except for holidays, weddings, and funerals they are all ga ga over what I have done and how good I look. SO DON'T HESITATE...WALK, CRAWL or RUN AS FAST AS YOU CAN...TO START YOUR NEW LIFE.. Betty Myers OPEN RNY 5/25/04 -135 pounds St. Louis, Missouri
