More steps forward

Today I saw the exercise rehab specialist and that went well. Friday I see the nutritionist. I can't believe this is really going to happen! After Friday I'll just need my psych evaluation and then I have all the pre-op testing prior to setting my date for surgery. St. JOhn's dropped the 7% weight loss requirement and neither my doctor nor my insurance require a weight loss, so that should speed things up. I'm hoping for Mid to end of January. The doctor said that was very likely. I know they have changed other things, I'm hoping the psych evaluation has dropped from three appointments to one. I mean how many does it really take to determine if I'm mentally and emotionally stable enough to have the surgery? I plan to find out for sure tomorrow and hopefully get an appointment scheduled. So far everything has gone very smoothly. I have so much peace each time I go to another appointment. Just wanted to update. Merry Christmas I hope someone will update the loop after Wayne has his surgery. That guy is so sweet and special. Tracey B

Tracey, Sounds like you're getting things done...we all have been there and done that or are getting ready to. I'm so glad that the process is going so smooth for you. There is a support group every month at St. Johns and maybe you've already been to it..if you haven't I hope to meet you sometime. Merry Christmas, Kelli

I hope you come to the next support group meeting as well. I would sure like to meet you. It will be in January. I didn't make the December meeting as I was only 4 days post-op. But I enjoy going. Wayne is always there. I had to see the psych doctor three times and the last time I had to take my husband. Wow was that a trip!! He didn't much want to go but he did it for me.. It's really no big deal. I just let him do most of the talking. I had my frist "meal" tonight. I had cottege cheese and smashed up chicken noodle soup. Didn't eat to much, was a little afraid. So far, so good. Take care Barb
