Today I had an all day behavioral health clinic. It was long, cost me $200 and didn't tell me anything I haven't learned here. , but it was mandatory and got me one step closer to surgery. Barbara, how are you feeling? Tracey

Tracey, Congrats on getting things going for your WLS journey. I'm curious as to why you had to pay the $200 out of pocket for your psych exam. UHC covered mine and the Burrell Center through Cox only charged me a $20 co-pay. Hopefully you'll come to the new beginnings support group sometime...if you haven't already and we can be introduced to each other. Merry Christmas! Kelli

I am doing good. The dizziness is now gone. Called Dr. Hodges and they told me to stop the blood pressure meds. That along with the Pepcid was making me so dizzy. Glad that is gone. I am still on full liquid diet. So tonight for diiner I had a protein shake. I have been having jell-o and these protein shakes and lots of water. I don't like the broth much. I will begin some puree foods on Friday. I also had to do the all day class, as well as all the other visits. Not sure if it was all necessary, but is required by Dr. Hodges, so I did it. Just do what you have to do. I have been feeling really good. Very little pain on the left side. Can't really lay on it yet. Mine was all done lap, thank goodness. Went home the day after from the hospital. I have lost 10 pounds as of today (Saturday). I had lost 32 before surgery. Low carb diet and walking on my treadmill. Keep me posted on what you are doing. Take Care Barb

Congrats on the 10 lbs., Barb. And the 32 before hand. That's wonderful! I appreciate your willingness to update with such detail. It definitely helps me prepare mentally for the month ahead. I need to lose 17lbs, but Dr. Hodges said he won't keep me from surgery if I don't lose it all, he just wants some reduction in weight. Hopefully that's the case. Kelli, the $200 was for an all-day behavioral health clinic. There were several bariatric patients hoping for surgery also in the class. They catered in lunch and brought in a panel of post op patients to speak and answer questions. If I didn't have these message boards it would have been a bigger help to me. But I knew most of what was presented because of these boards. But like Barbara said, it was required so we do whatever we have to do. I also have to have 3 psych eval. sessions. It may be different from your experience because it's through St. Johns rather than Cox. Both are very good hospitals. Tracey
