excited but scared!!
My surgery date is set for Dec. 5th and now i'm scared to death. i'm excited that it's finally here and i'm more than ready for the surgery. in the last month or so i've heard so many horror stories about the surgery so now i have one little nerve that keeps jumping around inside of me causing all kinds of trouble for the other little nerves in there. haha
I'm keeping my chin up though and it'd great to know that i'm not alone .
I know exactly how you feel. I am waiting for the Dr to call with my date and I am nervous and excited at the same time. We just have to remember why we are doing this. Plus one thing I've realized is that a lot of what I'm hearing is the same stories told over and over by differant sources (not a bunch of differant stories). Also the media tends to hype the negative while downplaying the positive. This surgery is going to give me back my life to live on my own terms and I would risk anything for that opportunity. Keep your head up Maria and remember were always here to talk to when you need it

Maria,
I know how you feel. I can now say that I have been there, done that and guess what?? My surgery was awesome, no problems, went well, and still have had no problems in the first week. Went for post op visit and all is well. Down 13 1/2 per his scale in first week, (official scale). I had weighed on my scale and I was down 16 but that was without clothes. Being nervous is ok, just put your faith in your doctor and ask the Lord to guide you. If you need help email me. Colette
I know what you mean about being scared. I am 3 days after you. I have heard some of the horror stories as well. But you have to put your faith in GOD. I feel He brought me to this, so He will get me through it as well. Not sure why there are so many bad stories, but when you think about it how many other types of surgery get this much attention? Maybe that is the reason. Even those that have had some problems, all say they would do it again. It seem everyone on this MO message board have had good experiences. We need to be inspired by these great people. I will be praying for you.

If you have studied for this surgery and have prayed and have made up your mind don't let anyone say any different. There will be horror stories about everthing and every procesure there is. With the one or two bad stories I wish they would mention the hundreds of people that have had it and it has changed their lives. Hang in there! Lovingly, Penni
Thank all of you for replying. all of you are great and are true inspirations. I can see that this site is going to be a very helpful tool in getting all of us through this, pre-op and post-op. with all of you and the loving hands of God we will make it through.
I thank God for leading me down the path to find all of you and your goodness at heart. Bless you all.
Maria
