Good Morning Missouri...
Yesterday was the absolute BEST day I've had in a LOOOONNNNGGGG time . First, I called my insurance to find out where I was in the process and was told that I was approved back on the 8th but because of Veterans Day The letter was being sent this week to the Docs . Then to make a good day AWESOME we had our New Beginnings Support Group here in Springfield (if your in the area and you missed it on you) and it was a great group meeting (Cathy, Nanette and Glenna are doing a great job with the group ). Today I am going to try to contact the scheduling nurse and try to get a tentative date and start my pre-surgery diet lol. I dont know about everyone else but all I want to do lately is EAT, is this normal pre-op? I hope everyone is having at least half as good a day as me because if you are then your day will be fine . Love ya, and next month BE AT THE MEETING
Wayne
Hey Wayne, I got a hold of Dr. Eagon's office today and that secretary that answered the phone was a bit of a smart azz at first. The first thing out of her mouth was, "Have you tried Jenny Craig or some other form of weight loss in the past three months?" I wanted to tell her that I had a standing appointment in front of Pizza Hut's lunch buffet every day at 11:30 a.m., but I think she would have hung up on me... LOL... When I told her I had been under my physicians care for weight loss for over three years she kinda backed off, but it's like she was really being put out!
Then towards the last of our conversation she chilled out and started acting like a normal human being. I think I just caught her at a bad time. She's sending me out a packet from their office today.
I can't believe I've got to go through all of this again. She said something about a two-day get together with the people there and the doctors. That sure sounds a whole lot better than driving 3 hours one-way to Columbia for everything.
Glad to hear you got some good news. No offense ladies, but it's great to hear about another guy going through all of this. By the way Wayne, are you doing Open or Lap??
Take care my friend,
Jeff
Hey Jeff, I'm sorry if they were a little cranky when you called, usually they are awesome people to deal with. They have great program and if you have already done the Dr supervised diet then your 3/4 of they way done now. I am have mine done open, I want the Dr to be able to see everything just in case there is a problem lol. You will have to do the two day visit, on the first day you meet with a Phyc Dr and a Nutritionalist and on the second day you meet with Physical therapy and thr Surgeon (either Mark Eagon or Valerie Halprin, both are awesome Dr). Then you just have to go to two support group meetings and your done as long as they dont order extra tests. With me I had to do a blood screen and a stress test. Good luck and let me know how it goes.
