Good morning! Approved on first try, surgery 9/12/05. Been overweight forever, researched WLS year and a half ago, decided it wasn't for me, then re-researched it beginning in May of this year and made up my mind to do it. 2 months post-op, down 58 lbs since surgery, 73 total with pre-surgery weight loss. I have no idea what my surgeon's goal is but I have a personal goal and I'm 127 pounds away from it. That sounds like a lot but it is so much better than the 200 pounds away from goal I started with. Usually lurk but sometimes I can't resist joining in. Today is a good day so here I am! Have a great day, Peggy 350+/325/277/150

Just found out today that I need one more appt with the nutritionist. (To get a better report. The last one she said ok to WLS but the report could have been better.) Then its on to insurance approval! YeeeeHaaaaaa! I've done my 6 month supervised weightloss program with a doc. My psychologist approved me a little while ago. I'm just past the 60 BMI requirement from my surgeon. (He wants less than 60 BMI only. I'm 59.? My insurance says I need to be at least 40. got that one beat!) SO I'm pretty excited now. I know lots more to still do. Insureance approval Hospital test pre-surgery and clearance surgery date and finally surgery. Do you usually get the date before you do the clearance testing? Like the cardioligist testing and such? ANyway I'm closer now than I was last week.

I am in the number 2 category (Pre-op & hoping for WLS). I have gotten bloodwork done and found out I am borderline diabetic (put on meds. for it), calling to set up sleep study (hope to get in for that soon), have BMI of 49.2 but not sure my insurance plan will approve even if medically necessary due to their exclusion (have DH's employer involved and hoping to get plan changed). Anyway, I need everyone's prayers, please......
