Clothes - Your opinion on buying new ones
Hey all,
New ? of the day and a goodie.
What is your opinion on constantly needing to buy new sizes?
I am having trouble accepting the fact that 1 month ago I was in 36 inch waist pants, they fit great, but last night I had to buy 33 in waist pants. So now I have brand new pants (almost) from size 46's down to 36's.
Now I know some are going WAHHH dont cry be happy, however I am having trouble with the money issue it just seems like such a waste to me. And trust me Goodwill doesnt have a big selection of jeans/belts, etc... Shirts not bad, however clothes are just expensive and since I am losing at a decent rate I am going through sizes fast, I know wahh wahh wahh, but it bugs me...
Any thoughts, am I just mental or what? Ok dont answer that since I see the guys in little white suits headed my way.. LOL
Serioulsy, is anyone else having issues with spending money for clothes?

Hey, I still only shop clearance racks and 50% or more OFF racks. When I was obviously still losing sizes I pretty much only shopped at Goodwill and 2nd hand stores. No reason to spend tons on clothes you won't be able to wear long. If you are still losing try those options. You have to be willing to spend some time digging through all the racks though. I love to do that.....take a couple of hrs with no kids and go on a treasure hunt!

Gevin,
I just bought my first new clothes this week. They are 3 sizes smaller than I was wearing before surgery 3 1/2 months ago. I bought them on sale, but they were still expensive. They are for work, though, so I don't feel too bad about it. My plan is to wear them until they fall down. I also decided I am worth it, and I deserve them for taking this very scary, brave step of surgery. It's much better to reward myself this way than in the old way--FOOD!!
I am going to try consignment shops, but I have to say Goodwill did not work for me yet. I may try it again for non-work clothes. The store in my town is not real good. The one in the town where I work is a little better, but I only went on my lunch hour. That did not give me enough time to really look.

I started out in 28-30's womens size and I am now in size 10's. Since I work in a professional capacity I HAVE to dress a certain way. No casual clothes. Unfortunately when I first started loosing weight it was near impossible to find business dressy clothes my size in the thrift stores/etc. They just don't carry that much... So I have complete wardrobes in yup YOU GUESSED IT... every darn size!
Now that I am much smaller I can and do go shopping in the Salvation Army stores, Goodwill as well as other consignment shops. I can find and get some really good deals. Still hard to find good pants... so I usually end up having to supplement the wardrobe with retail sale purchases...
BUT OVERALL IT IS ALOT EASIER !...
Whenever I have a yard sale watch out! There will be some very happy ladies out there somewhere!
..on a side note..isn't this a good problem to have though? *s*

Hey Elizabeth,
Well I am glad I am not alone. I do find alot of nice shirts at Goodwill and others, but it still bugs me. I know it shouldnt because rather than sizes going up they are going down and yes it is a great thing.
Speaking of sizes, wow a 10, man thats getting pretty darn little~!.
As for me, well I got myself a pair of Medium 32-34 biking pants today. They are so small compared to my other pants, but they fit great and are warm.
I guess I just need to buck up and suck it up. I thought I knew this was going to happen I guess I just never dreamed so fast.
Well thanks for the reply and as always keep your eyes on the prize, whatever that may be.
