Saw my PCP~He is sending my referral to surgeon

I went to my PCP yesterday. He says with my height and weight he thinks there should be no problem getting approval. Just waiting for my husband to talk with HR at work. The guy he needed to talk to was out until Monday. BCBS said the exclusion on obesity is through the company. I am hoping since it is kind of a small company and my husband is pretty close with one of the owners, they will be willing to drop this exclusion for me. Not sure how that will work. But keeping my fingers crossed. Not giving up anytime soon.

Hello there, glad to hear things went well with your PCP,... I hope that the rest works out for you also. I live in Sedalia and wanted to say hi and good luck to you. I am done with most of my testing and just waiting for a new surgery date. I had one but changed my mind, on the type of surgery I was having and the surgeon that I am having do it. You know how us women are change our minds in mid stream,...but I did what I thought was best for me. Well good luck again and take care of yourself. Marylinalmost switched

Thanks for the support. My husband is talking to his company today because we found out that the exclusion is through the company not the insurance. Crossing my fingers and praying he can persuade them to lift the exclusion for me. Going to try to get in for the group consultation in November with Dr. Hornbostel. Will keep posting as I progress.

Ok, his company is willing to waive the exclusion. I talked to a woman at the Insurance Company and she says all insurances have the exclusion but if I can get a letter from the Doctor saying this is medically necessary, they may approve it. So, going to group consultation on November 2 and starting the rest of the journey after that. Hope it works out. Please keep me in your prayers.
