Wow, from Higbee to California!! I'll bet that's a culture shock. Are you living in a big town or a rural area? Did you get transferred? How are your kids liking things? How much weight have you lost by now? We'll certainly miss you, but keep in touch.

Wow, Shelli, I can't believe how great you look! I started out a little below you but I've only lost 140 lbs and I seem stuck here. I have another 90 I want to lose but I can't seem to get it jump started. Any advice? I'm concerned about that 18 month window. I have about another 5 months until I reach that and I want to lose all I can by then. What kinds of things do you eat these days? Do you ever have carbs? I admit that is probably my problem. There are a few carbs I can eat and that seems to be all I want. Let me know what advice you have. Teresa

Hi Teresa! Thanks for the kind words. The only advice I can offer is to go back to the basics. Increase your protein, drink your water, eat low-carb foods and try to keep your meals at 8-ozs or less. If you feel the need to snack...eat peanuts, sunflower seeds or beef jerky. My typical daily diet consists of a protein bar and skim milk for breakfast, and then for lunch I usually eat a tuna lunch pack, or a lean cuisine meal, or a small salad. And then I eat whatever the family is having for dinner each nite, but in a much smaller portion. The only exercise I've been doing lately is walking...but I walk ALOT. I've lost 242 lbs so far, and I'm still losing, but at a much slower pace. My 18 month anniversary was on 10/14 and I've lost 2 lbs since then......so maybe I'll get lucky and continue to lose even after the honeymoon period is over. I am only 8 lbs from my doc's goal to have skin removal surgery...which will remove another 20 or so pounds! I can't even imagine being that skinny, especially after starting this journey at 430 whopping pounds. It has been alot of fun. I love the compliments and it is a blast shopping for size 14 pants and Large size shirts....especially when I started in 6X shirts and size 34-36 pants! Keep your confidence up and just go back to the basics. That's the best advice I can offer. Bye bye, Shelli Down 242 lbs.......and still counting!
