Hi! I'm curious if anyone's eating pasta at all? What about the whole wheat/whole grain kind? I miss the taste of spaghetti, and I know I can find a way to fix a sauce that's tolerable and allowed ... but was wondering what, if anything, others are doing re pasta/pasta substitutes? thanks Myra

I do pasta. I just don't eat too much. I eat regular spaghetti and sometimes I eat a little of the hamburger helper lasagna. I'm 11 months out though so that may make a difference. tp

Thanks, Teresa, My daughter (who lives with me) is wanting spaghetti too, and I suppose I'll fix it for her, but I'll just have a little of the sauce. I'm only 5 months post-op, and I've had it drilled in my head "no rice, pasta, macaroni, etc ... nothing white, no white-deriviatives ... (and the list goes on)". To tell the truth, it's made me paranoid about the whole thing, so I don't guess I'll be putting any pasta in my mouth just yet. thanks for replying, Myra

Just a follow-up ... I did make spaghetti. Made it with ground turkey, but otherwise followed my usual recipe for the sauce. For my daughter I cooked whole-grain pasta (she said that was definitely going to be an acquired taste and they DID smell sort of like "hay" ). For my "noodles", I substituted heated and drained bean sprouts ... something I remembered from a weight loss program I was in long ago. Once the bean sprouts absorb abit of sauce they're virtually tasteless, and truly only give the "impression" of having actual spaghetti noodles ... but it works and I didn't have pasta and I had my "spaghetti-fix" and that's all that's important. have a great day everyone, Myra
