***GOAL****
Hello
Well, I had my internal hernia surgery. All went well - so well in fact, that I lost that last pound needed to make GOAL WEIGHT!!!
Seriously, the surgery went fine, very delayed (Dr. R. had some problems with a couple surgeries ahead of me), but fine. I'm a little sore and tired, but normal post-op stuff.
So now that I'm at goal, I think I could really lose another 15 lbs. I'm fine if I don't, but honestly, it wouldn't kill me, ya know?
Also, my insurance will pay for a breast reduction, if there's medical necessity. My primary said we have more than enough for medical necessity for that, to just let him know when I'm ready and he'll get that together. So I'm thinking that it might not cost me that much to have the tummy tuck at the same time, if the insurance is already paying for the breast reduction! I'm going to check into that. It probably won't be until next summer, but I need to start planning that now, so I know how much my portion will be.

Hi Traci!
Congrats on making goal!!!
I'm so jealous! I've got another 20 lbs to go to meet my doc's goal. I'm slowly but surely getting there.
Glad your hernia repair was uneventful......but please get the rest you need to heal your belly. Congrats also on the insurance covering your new rack! I haven't pursued any of that yet because I'm still losing. Maybe we'll be ready at the same time (next summer).....it all depends on how long my hernia will allow me to go. I'm not in alot of pain, so I'm waiting it out.
Peace Out!

Down 230 lbs!
So, what is the medical necessity for breast reduction or a tummy tuck? I don't really have a surgeon right now but I'm going to my pcp in a month for my 1 year check up and I want to start documenting some things if I can. I'd love to have a medical reason to get my arms and thighs fixed. Of course, I still have weight to lose so I have some time to document some things. Right now my biggest problem is back pain and knee pain. I don't know if either of those can be related to anything. My breasts really aren't that large so I don't think I can claim back problems from that. Any advice would be appreciated.

Hi Teresa
I'm not sure what all the medical reasons are for each procedure; but for me, I'm a F or H cup and have suffered from migraines, neck & back pain and numbness in my upper back for many years. So apparently I have enough volume and medical issues to warrant a reduction. My doc said there is no real medical necessity for a tummy tuck. Now I would imagine if one were having bad rashes, boils, etc.... and documented those, that some insurance would cover a TT because of that. I'm not having enough of those issues to get it covered for that reason.
