Dr. Scotts Patients
Marla,
Dr. Scott did my Lap RNY last Tuesday. I had to do the TSH (thyroid) test as part of the application process. I was then scheduled for a stress echocardiagram. I can't remember the medical name, but it is done by injecting medication through an IV which causes your heart to beat very fast. In one visit to the pre-op clinc, I had full lab blood work, chest x-ray and met with an anethesiologist. I think some patients might have additional tests based on their medical condition.
Good luck on your surgery!!
Hi Marla,
Drs. DeLaTorre/Scott did my Lap RNY 7 months ago and I didn't have a stress test. The only pre-op testing done was blood draw, chest x-ray, and anesthesia consult (all in one appointment). There is an entire list of possible pre-op tests that could be ordered, depending on your general health and any comorbidities. I agree with Linda above, check with his staff -- they can easily tell you what tests are ordered for everybody, and may be able to tell you what other tests are likely if you have specific comorbidities like diabetes, previous cardiac or pulmonary problems, etc.
Best wishes - this was the best decision I ever made for my own health!!
