I'm home!!!
My surgery was scheduled to start at 1:30 ON 7/26, Like the good rule follower that I am, I was at the hospital 2 hours prior to the scheduled time. Earlier surgeries had complications, and I didn't leave pre-op until 6:30. They say it was midnight when I got to my room. I have no memory of recovery, so I wouldn't know.
I was scheduled to come home yesterday, but I had abdominal pain that scared the doc. I'm very glad he was extra cautious, because I feel much better today. I think the pain was the result of late surgery and failure to ask for pain meds after they took me off the morphine button. Everything was being brought to me, and I thought they would do that too. Since I wasn't complaining, they didn't bring any. They even asked about my pain, and I said it wasn't too bad. Bad idea!!
I'm very glad to be home. I got here about 10:30 am, and my husband has been taking care of me hand and foot.
I want to thank everyone on this board who has encourage me and sent kind thoughts and prayers. They were much appreciated.

Marylin,
Thanks for the kind words. My husband is harrassing me. Every time he walks by he reminds me to flex my fee to avoid blood clots. The next trip through he asked when I had last used the incentive spriometer for breathing.
I feel very blessed by this surgery, and I am looking forward to using the tool effectively.
I see your surgery is coming up soon. Best wishes for an uneventful surgery and a speedy recovery.
Linda
Connie,
Thanks so much for the kind words. I just read your profile and saw that you had gone through a difficult time. I am so glad you are doing better now.
You are doing a great job with your weight loss, and I am sure we will be seeing a posting from you announcing you have reached your personal goal.
I also see you are interested in cruises. Have you gone on many? We did the A
laska Inside Passage cruise on Princess in June. It was wonderful.
